jaymychal is also the guy i think would fit perfectly with us. i really wanted him over the summer, but w/ him being restricted that was a pipedream
I didn't know much about him, but I trust your and Codman's judgment. From the little I have seen of him, he looks like a decent 4/3, with good size and athleticism.
he's still a bit raw, even for 27? years old. but his play above and around the rim would give us another dimension. he can stick the 3 and guard several positions. would fit in attitude and chemistry-wise. hopefully this ends up like when i wanted wilson chandler all those years, and then morey just went and got a reasonable facsimilie in prince luc for the minimum instead
I think the Rockets can get away with NOT needing a decent "third PG" if they can get Joe Johnson via a buyout in Utah around the trade deadline. JJ could handle the ball as a 3/4 point forward in the 2nd unit and allow the Rockets to comfortably play EG at PG for defense. Or even Weber/Jackson etc. You can play a defensive PG with JJ on the floor running the offense. JJ checks a lot of boxes. - Can create his own shot in the half court. - 3pt shooter to spread the floor. - Veteran that can be dependable. - Experienced in MDA's system. - Low maintenance guy. No chemistry risk. - Can be had for vet mim if buyout. Can be added to the empty roster spot and stay below Hard Cap.
i agree. i was just looking at trade targets. but jj would be a good buyout signing. i also agree that we dont need a traditional 3rd pg, but i think we do need an additional playmaker besides harde, cp3, and ego.
None of those guys are better than who we have in the current rotation...Also when you said you'd trade Ariza, a 1st rounder, and a 2nd rounder for Jonathan Simmons, I kind of stopped taking you seriously. I'd only give up a second rounder for Simmons. Not sure whey you're glorifying him.
Come on, between Ariza, Tucker and Luc, what is there not to be happy with the wing position? Top that up with a possible 3 guards line up, SF is not exactly an issue. I would still like to see an upgrade on the PF position thou. As I still think elite 4s will be an issue.
I think it's time to bump this one up. Unfortunately, recent play by Saric and Mirotic over the last 2 months has made them more difficult to trade for. However, both should be available for the right price in the long term. With Fultz coming back soon, Saric will return to the bench, so his trade value is at its peak now - Philly could decide to cash in. Mirotic is an expiring and Markkanen is the long term PF for the bulls. Tucker and a second would have been enough 2 months ago when Mirotic had asked to be traded, but they could get a first now. Morris should be available in the summer, as the Wizards have to pay Oubre. DC would ask for at least a first which they would use to acquire a bench scorer, e.g. Lou Williams. Simmons' consistently solid play means Orlando won't trade him unless they receive a crazy offer. A new name I had not included in the original list, as I thought he was unavailable, is JaMychal Green. With the Grizzlies imploding, they may decide it's time to tank and get any picks they can. I would happily trade Tucker and a second, but I doubt Memphis would accept anything else than a first.
I think it's time to take a look at the random trade ideas thread http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php?threads/random-houston-rockets-trade-ideas-2017-18.285983/
Aaron Gordon Or just improve end of bench/depth/break glass in case of emergency players: Anthony Randolph Perry Jones III JSmoove All 3 guys are available sans trade and all 3 are capable of exploding in big games. Need more catalytic players so Beard and CP3 do not have to carry team every SINGLE game. Gerald Green was a good start.
I would be on the Jabari Parker bandwagon but good god with all his knee injuries, I can't say that it'd be a smart risk to take. Milwaukee seems to be a lot more detached from him being a part of their future (understandably).
I like the OP and think that it's fairly realistic . Morey might surprise us , but on the surface it doesn't seem like it will be easy to upgrade our rotation .
Morey should've traded Anderson and picks for Mirotic+filler during that whole team in-fighting thing after seeing no other team wanted Anderson's contract last summer.
Thinking the same thing. Harris would kick the Rockets Offense up a great notch. TH with Avery Bradley and sign Bogut for rest of the season. Just dreaming out loud
Luc + Ariza + Green = I'm ok with this Small Forward Rotation Power forward is another deal completely Rocket RIver
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yd8el3mm Magic might bite, i honestly see no other trade in the whole league man.. Nobody wants anderson 20 million 3 3's a night lol
Reason why i say magic, cause they could probably actualy benefit from him, he could probably average near 18 pts a night over there and space that floor. They might even start winning few games.
