Remember, no PBP in these threads and keep the chatter on topic (if it is about something other than this series, talk about it in another thread).

football fans may hate me for saying so...but yesterday's texan game made me appreciative of the astros.

not because they're a winning team.

but because i can watch them when they're not a winning team and still enjoy it. not have it "ruin" my day or occupy me like that.

i think that has a lot to do with the pace of baseball, generally. also because i love the game in and of itself....and feel connected to the franchise.

    so i still care! :) i'm watching.

I stuck it out through the 80s and early 90s baby; I ain't going nowhere now for sure!

They suck, but they're still MY TEAM.

    GO ASTROS!!!!

Lots of us still watching, and who still care. Just not a lot of comment on in a playing out the string phase of the season.

I'm still watching and will till the bitter end.

Should, in theory, be a sweep with the pitchers we have going. Arroyo has been very good since Aug 1, so tonight should be a low scoring affair.

I could relate to that...and to take it a step further, I will enjoy watching the Rockets this year as well on pure basketball basis, regardless of wins or losses, specially since the expectations are not there this year anyways...

Wandy has a better road ERA against the Reds than he has home ERA. That has to be rare for him.

    I'm looking forward to .500.

We may have disagreed on certain things concerning the Stros in the past but agree with you 100000000% on this.

Baseball is by far the hardest to win a title because of the length of the season and limited access to the playoffs, so when you actually make the playoffs its an ACCOMPLISHMENT!

Not to mention the lack of a cap.

As far as me being the only one that cares, that's just silly talk. I've only been following the Astros since about 2003, shortly after moving to Houston. I have a tendency to get into local sports teams wherever I live.

I've been an Indians fan all my life but I have definitely become a genuine Astros fan over the years.

So the Astros are out of it. Who cares?

At this point, I just want a good finish to the season. Preferably over .500.

Is it me or does Puma look like he is about to pass out and/or pull a hammy everytime he has to run hard!

    I hate warning track power!

Puma certainly isn't graceful on the basepaths.

It drives me crazy to see guys like him and Lee stealing bases this late in the season. Maybe it's no big deal but I don't see the need for the risk.

I also don't see the point in sending Roy out there with the disc problem in his back. Even the Giants are taking it easy on Lincecum in the middle of a pennant chase, not that the injuries are necessarily equal. I'm not sure about the exact nature of Lincecum's issue.

They don't steal all year but all of a sudden they go 85 Cards on everyone lol...yea its Coop proving a point I think. Oz needs to shut it down and let Bazardo, Paulino and Norris get as many innings as possible(Specially Paulino)
