I am scared that I am having one of the best dreams of my life and I'm about to hear the alarm clock wake me up and it will be Saturday morning - before the RRS kickoff...
Ah, the power of media bias. USC loses (and generally was blown out) against a mediocre Oregon State squad, and they're No. 6. Florida loses to a bad Ole Miss team at home, and they're No. 5. We lose to the No. 8 team in the country... and we're No. 11. Words can't describe the lack of logic there. Not that I didn't expect it, but it's still bull****.
Right, but it only accounts for 33 percent... human voters (biased) make up the other 2/3. Even if we win this week, I wouldn't be surprised if we're still behind Texas. Hope I'm wrong.
We're #8 baby!!! We're bonafide men now (Okay no more "The rant" references from me now, and nor should anyone else)
It's not just about losses. USC and Florida also have big wins against Ohio State and LSU - Missouri does not have a win of that quality. The closest is Illinois, who's now 3-3. Missouri was #2/3 in the country last week, higher than all the other undefeated teams except OU. It's not media bias that hurt them - it's the fact they haven't beaten anyone.
Big 12... As a whole... Has completely forgotten how to play defense. The SEC is gonna teach them what happens to a shotgun set when they meet in a bowl game. And Colt McCoy will get to experience what a real late hit feels like.
LSU just gave up 50 pts to Florida. Georgia gave up 30+ in a half to Alabama. Those SEC defenses are benefitting from facing inconsistent offenses. When the offices play well, they've been getting shredded too.
I'd be willing to bet anyone on this board any amount they want (tip jar bet, anyone?) that if Missouri wins this week, they won't jump either USC or Florida. Even though in that scenario, Mizzou would have the most impressive win period -- on the road at #1. The only reason Missouri was 2/3 was because everyone had lost except for teams like Alabama and LSU, who most people know aren't serious contenders. In the preseason, as well as now, people have Florida and USC ahead because of the names on the front of the jerseys. And when we win in six days, they'll still be ahead.
Mizzou? Mizzou? Are you kidding me? You should be happy that football even matters for Mizzou these days..... They have not proven anything......if they beat Texas, then we shall talk, but they just got punked by an average OSU team. Mizzou......the show me team...... Come on Cat....they deserve to be where they are.......they were overated at number 3...... DD
I'll agree -- all my talk is based on my expectation that we'll beat Texas in six days. If we don't, it's irrelevant. But based on how polls usually move, I don't think we'll be in the same class as USC/Florida, even if we take care of business.
Big 12 is overrated. Offenses are blinding everyone. They have the top QBs in college football. Few of which are getting NFL scouts excited. The best one is Freeman from KSU and nobody even mentions him. Because those style offenses can't get it done against real competition. Does anyone realize Chase Coffman lines up in the slot every down? How is that a tight end? Sadly the league is gonna get exposed. See TT vs Alabama in the Cotton Bowl for reference. Kentucky would hold Tech under 17. And Stoops blows bowl games like its his job.
Why are you going back three seasons? It would seem that to judge the current crop of teams, last season would be more relevant. See Missouri vs. Arkansas in the Cotton Bowl for reference.
Dude Mizzou would give you guys your run for the money, don't discredit them just because they lost a very underrated and GOOD OSU team. Did you even watch the game last night DD? Mind you, Zac, Kendall, Dez, and that 6-5 stud at receiver, Damian Davis, are all only SOPHOMORES and JUNIORS (Zac is a junior). Even if you refuse to acknowledge that we're a good team, your coach Mac Brown thinks we're the most underrated team in the Big 12. Zac is every bit as good as Colt McCoy and likely a better athlete too (he played receiver in HS). Kendall Hunter alone has more than 2/3 of your total combined rushing yards. By himself. Dez Bryant, ignored by all the stupid media, is greatly appreciated by insiders and coaches who all say that he is one of the most dangerous receivers in the Big 12-and the nation. And he's only a sophomore. Texas is a great team thats very well coach, but don't forget that you guys struggled against us last year. So stop trying to downplay our accomplishments, 'cause you'll see just how good our offense is in two weeks. (But first we gotta take care of Baylor) Should be a good game. And don't even try to deny that DD.
