Kawhi "Sugar K" Leonard (as Shaq just nicknamed him) is a stud and future all star in my opinion (baring injuries)

I've grown to like him as a player a lot ever since last year's Playoffs (especially during The Finals) . Many won't agree with me, but I felt that he was Finals MVP-worthy had the Spurs won.

He is an ELITE defender, and is improving his offensive game as well....

Spurs knew what they were getting when they gave up George Hill (who played quite well for them) for an unproven rookie.

What is his ceiling in your opinion?

    He is

A guy that gets hyped up every time the playoffs come around and everyone predicts will flip the switch the next season and does not proceed to do so.....until the playoffs start again

Hard to gauge when he plays in a team-oriented system, and that system caters to TP/Duncan still. But at least we know he's a tremendous role player who plays shut down D. He's basically Bruce Bowen with offense. Now that's a scary role player.

But Pops is REALLY REALLY high on him.

I'd say he's better than Parsons. He's a way better defender, and his offensive game may be better as well (debatable, but I feel like he has a larger arsenal of moves) . Parsons is a better shooter though.

Not gonna lie, I'd rather have Kawhi than Parsons.

    He's a stud.

Just another guy the Rockets missed out on when they made the terrible pick in Marcus Morris.

Me too. He's 3 years younger than Parsons. I have doubts Chandler will ever be much more than he is now. On the other hand, Leonard has a huge upside IMO because he can influence both ends of the floor in a way Parsons never will.

It sucks because we could have had him in the draft. But it's hard to say how things would've turned out with the roster if we had him instead (speaking in terms of trades last midseason and acquiring Howard since Parsons was our salesman)

I think going to the Spurs was great for him. Who knows how he would have panned out had he went to the Rockets. The Spurs have a great coaching staff , can't say the same about the Rockets sadly.

I'd take him over Parsons in a second. This guy always plays big in the playoffs.

No kidding. Got drafted into probably the best staff in the business. Just would have personally made me happy if he got picked by the Rockets since he's from my hometown Riverside, CA haha. I used to play pick up games with the guy!

That Marcus Morris pick looks worse and worse. So much talent could have been had...

    Kawhi Leonard
    Nikola Vucevic
    Kenneth Faried
    Reggie Jackson
    Jimmy Butler

    At least we snagged Parsons

He's a lot better than Parsons right now. I wouldn't mind trading Parsons + Lin for him and that's the truth. Add Patty Mills and it will be perfect for the Rockets.

We'll never know how truly great he can be until the original big 3 of the Spurs leave or retire. Once 2 of them are out, the reigns are off.
