If that's true that's funny that there are two Mr. Mean players who were on the Rockets. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_Micheaux
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_Smith_(basketball) Wikipedia doesn't have it. https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/s/smithla01.html Basketball Reference does. I can learn anything you boomers know at the click of a button. Except what it was like to drive without airbags. (obviously in jest)
I mean we can’t expect this FO and Harden to make the best decision. James has proven time & again he’s a terrible GM and Tilman is just a giant douche with no monies. No way it’s not Lucas at this point.
Larry Smith wasn’t just a player on the Rockets. He was a long time assistant coach under Rudy T. He and Hakeem would have legendary practice battles all the time. So, Mr. Mean wasn’t just a small time player... he was an important piece of the Rockets for many years.
Micheaux played only half a season with the Rockets. His fame was with the Cougars' Phi Slama Jama. That's where he got his Mr. Mean nickname.
I don’t think anyone would call this other guy Mr. Mean. Bill Worrell would constantly remind people Larry Smith was named Mr. Mean during every broadcast when he was on the sidelines with Rudy T.
Everybody called him Mr Mean it was his name through the Phi Slamma Jamma years. He was arguably more famous during that time than Larry Smith in Houston and Texas.
I’ll disagree with you there. Larry Smith was an assistant on the Rockets during the title run, and was huge in helping Hakeem develop.
Bill did all the time. He's a Cougar...first and foremost. And PSJ was HUUUUUUUGE! Always will be. Eat em Up!
