So... according to the President, all of California's problems would be solved if they would vote for him. Including, FORREST fires
Shouldn't that be the other way around? Since he can fix all of their problems, do it and they will vote for you.

Good luck to you, DJT. You have no idea what you're doing to Cali voter turnout and campaign donations against you, despite your regressive tax play.

But please, by all means, keep tweeting. I can feel another round of Senate campaign donations coming on.

Didn't he cap SALT deductions at $10k with his tax cut bill thus ****ing over a lot of the middle class in California? Lol.

Trump will openly punish states that don't support him and help states that do, remember all the stuff with the White Houses stockpiles of PPE, but his policies actually hurt supporters and red states. The tax cut and other fiscal policies have heated the stock market yet most of the investment class doesn't live in places like AL and WY but in blue states like NY and CA . In the meantime his trade war hit the agriculture sector very hard and most of that are in places that support Trump. Soybean farmers in states like NE and people raising hogs in IA bore the brunt of the damage from the trade war as they lost overseas market to places like Brazil.

Yes, yes he/they did. That's accurate. Many of us in Cali saw our total tax bill go up, dramatically so. That's not an accident, so good luck out here, GOP.

Disagree strongly, as you know. But it's very personal and painful.

In any case, you could persuade me to pay that much more in taxes if it amounted to a big positive for our country: a better safety net? more insured americans? infrastructure? but all I got for the increased tax bill was a shredded pandemic playbook, record deficit spending, enriching the top fraction of the 1% again, no sustainable vision for the future, and an economy that doubled down on hurting my household economic standing. I guess we paid for a lot of Trump resort golf outings too. That was fun.

The best way to stop forest fires is to let them all burn down, bigly. Then, no more fires.

My view is not so much about punishing any particular group of people but more about the inequality found in the tax code. The standard deduction (or whatever we are calling it these days) is the same across the board and it does not take in account for cost of living. In this particular discussion about SALT, its much much easier to exceed that standard deduction in high cost of living places than it is in rural america. The 35k-80k range gets battered in taxes and other duties.
