To be fair, Lue was offered the Lakers HC position and turned it down because the money wasn't what he wanted.
Correct, some people are fooled by the winning percentage. Not understanding multiple stars can distort this stat. I argued no to Luke Walton with some member here, after Walton took over for Kerr due to back problems. I told that member a monkey would look good running that team of 5 all stars. How did things work out with Luke in Laker-land or now Sac-town? Has he won like he did in GSW’s?
I like a lot of the coaches on this list a lot and I'd be super happy with a lot of them too. But, until I know she's been eliminated, my choice is still Becky Hammon.
my top choice here would be Lue. proven to make the right in game adjustments, and to garner the respect of superstars. Also has that championship experience. but I think the clippers end up promoting him to the first chair. I think we choose between Silas and Cassell... and I have to go with Silas. Cassell has the edge on nostalgia, but Silas was mentored by Nelson (small ball with warriors), Carlisle (#1 offense of all time), his dad and Clifford (both known for their defense).
This is true. And if Morey/Tilman hire JVG against Hardens wishes.....they need to trade him. Harden will pout while collecting his $40- something million a year. Because he won’t bust it in practice like a Thibs or JVG wants. It’s not like a Star hasn’t done it before. Kawhi ask why?
My troll pick was Ty Lue. He kind of does have a very good chance considering he isn't afraid to get in Hardens face and Harden would be okay with it too. My real choice is JVG. No nonsense, players coach but unafraid to get on someone's ass. He is a Houstonian through and through, like Harden has made this city his own. I think it brings the towns flavor back to where it needs to be.
We should just blow it up, we can't beat this lakers team. Anthony Davis and lebron James with Mamba mentality is unbeatable in the playoffs when they are all dialed in. You need too much or tooany parts to compete with that team. Blow it up!
As soon as he's outta here watch how fast the narrative changes regarding his game. All of sudden you will hear and abundance of positive things.
he said Doc wanted New Orleans or Houston about three minutes before it was clear he was going to Philly. I don’t think it’s the same dude as last time around.
If Lue turned down Lakers HC offer because not enough money then what makes you think Tilly can offer more than Jeannie Buss? Landrys gift coupons do not have the value you think it does.
Well it sounds like they low balled him and he preferred to be an assistant and wait for something better. He declined them and then they took Vogel afterwards, so he rejected the Lakers unless I'm mis reading the reports. https://www.latimes.com/sports/lakers/la-sp-lakers-tyronn-lue-not-hired-20190508-story.html#:~:text=As a coach who had,an opportunity to move on. Also Vogel himself was fired in Orlando with a 25-57 record after a 29 win record the year before. https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/ORL/2018.html Steve Clifford took over afterwards at they went to 42-40. https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/ORL/2019.html Having high level talent helps coaches quite a bit, but I don't necessarily think Vogel is better, and LA wanted Lue as a higher priority it seems.
