Russ is a 12 year vet at this point and just had his worst shooting season from deep in over ten years with wide open looks. If he could shoot he would have done it by now.
Thank God some of yall aint the GM. Russ was one of the best players in the league as recently as february. He had covid, came back from a quad injury in the middle of a series and in classic Russ style tried to force things when his athleticism was failing him. He is very tradeable and more tradeable that CP3 was this time last year when everyone thought he could pull a hammy anyday. Knicks, Orlando, Minnesota, Kings are all starving for stars.
The dude's playoff stats have been horrible and on the decline for 4 years. That injury excuse isnt gonna cut it. No one should be that garbage even coming back from injury.
Saying Russ has more trade value now than CP3 did last summer isn't a compliment. He should have more value, we traded two first round draft picks and two pick swaps to get him. The unfortunate part is that CP3 appears to be the better trade asset now, a year later.
Russell Westbrook to Pistons? Rockets to trade for Blake Griffin and team him up with James Harden; reports claim https://thesportsrush.com/nba-news-...n-and-team-him-team-him-up-with-james-harden/
When was the last time Blake was actually healthy? If he is healthy then Harden Gordon Covington Griffin McGee?
The Capela trade would have never gone thru if the Rockets staff thought he could develop a 3 point shot.
You trade Westbrook and House for Julius Randle and Knox from New York. You add bobby portis from NY and the numbers should match up. Hopefully get knicks to kick in a couple of first rd picks. You can cut portis (team option 1yr left on contract)and save 15 mil on your cap and then you can trade Randle for a draft pick. Add NY’s 2 first rd picks and that gives you 3 first rd picks. So with randle and portis off your books you now have 33 mil in cap space. And with the 3 picks you can attach to a variation of a gordon, pj, Covington trade. Plus you get an up and coming kid in Knox
Blake would be a dream scenario, but I still think they'd have to include more assets. Maybe House and a 1st? Still seems unlikely. Horford is certainly gettable, but Philly would have to be ready to move on from Simmons and move him in a separate deal. I just don't see it. Gordon is the bad contract that's more easily moved and could help them improve the roster. If Westbrook improves his stock with a better season, he could maybe get moved next summer with one less year on that mammoth contract.
If the Bucks rumors are real of Middleton & another rotation player and filler. (Bledsoe and Rolo) If true, done before they change their minds. Westbrook, Tucker & House For Middleton, Bledsoe & Rolo this covers both teams —> PG/wing/big. Sad to see these three move on but it’s the right move because it balances out the team and brakes up that super max contract. PLUS I don’t think we should pay Tucker (He is not going to get better but age WILL catch him. We would be paying him for services he had already given not will give us—> thank him for his service and move on). House is House (I like his play but his contract more). This is hard because he is a value already and is still growing. Westbrook needs the East and a team that doesn’t have a player that is similar to him but better. ..... Bledsoe, Harden, Middleton, Covington & Lopez —> Gordon, Green(if we can get him back at a reasonable cost) I think most coaches would like that lineup. Plus Nwaba, MaClemore, Bruno and other projects. We are a better TEAM moving forward.
