I was thinking Ferrell was not a prospect before this season, and juat there to fill out a roster. I'm a little surprised Ivey wasn't called to be on 60-man. Injury makes more sense than Astros just trying to protect him.
Man this is painful. I still think the primary reason we lost Game 7 was due to leaving a billion men on base throughout the game, but when things got late and tight, that missed call potentially created a domino of events that turned this game. We can't assume Grienke would've gotten Soto out with a 2-2 count versus a 3-1 count, but I would have liked to have found out the natural way. Damn, damn damn damn it still hurts. If we could have just gotten out of that 7th inning and turned it over to Cole in the 8th. Damn.....DAMN!
You know what he meant was "it was great because some people tried to talk to me and I couldn't hear them."
Astros rank by position per Fangraphs: C 17 1B 18 2B 2 SS 2 3B 1 RF 10 CF 3 LF 4 DH 1 Pretty stacked. They are mediocre at C (where they have one of the best defensive catchers in the league) and 1B (where they have a player who hit 31 HR last season). Everywhere else they are top 4 in the league except RF (where they have a recent MLB Top 10 prospect breaking in). Going to hurt trying to replace 2 OF who were top 5 in the league at their position after this season. Then Correa after next season.
I am not counting on the full roster to be available really at any point this season. I’m looking at each game as a bonus. Every team is going to be in similar situations. As long as Verlander and Greinke stay available and the lineup is at least 2/3 available, Houston will have as good a shot as anybody to win it all.
Dusty Baker said Aledmys Diaz (neck) should play in the intrasquad game tomorrow and he will travel to KC. He said he wants to give him as many ABs as he can. About the absence of Yordan Alvarez, Baker said "there's a spot open for Tucker." Dusty Baker made it sound like he will give designated hitter at-bats to both Kyle Tucker and Michael Brantley in Yordan Alvarez's absence. No word on when Peacock or Osuna will throw in a game, but Pressly should return to action tomorrow. There is still no update on Yordan Alvarez or Jose Urquidy, Dusty Baker said. Josh Reddick said the piped-in crowd noise at Minute Maid Park "sounds like my twins' white noise machine."
Torres is a nice lookin arm. Almost definitely just a reliever but has a chance to be a good one if he can get his delivery standardized.
