Blum was saying that he's healthy, going back to last year. I didn't know about the little nagging injuries he was talking about. Once he gets his arm stretched out, who knows? eta: HOLY **** Correa knocked the **** out of that ball. double eta: what a bunch of LL dicksteppery by the Twins. That was fun.
Reporter: "You have had 2 base running blunders in the past few games, what can you do stay mentally prepared to stay on top of base running errors?" CC: "Hit gigantic ass bombs such as this."
just out of curiosity, how detailed are they on those calculations? wind-speed and humidity factored in or are velocity and angle the only variables? how about ball rotation?
Because he had already rounded first before the throw went into the dugout. You get to advance a base on a ball that is out of play, but since he was already headed to 2nd base, he advances to 3rd.
I'm so thinking about going to Arlington this weekend. Keuchel-Darvis Friday night Lance on Saturday night on Fox
No it's not auto 2 bases, it's one base. But if the baserunner is already advancing to the next base (2nd in this case), they 'advance' to 3rd on a ball that's out of play.
Ball thrown out of play from the field = 2 bases. Ball thrown out of play by the pitcher, on the rubber, = 1 base. Beltran already had 1st, so.... i.e. if it was a groundball to the IF and they threw it out of play, he'd be on 2nd. eta: Correa bringing the circus catches the last couple of days.
All throws from the outfield. All throws from the outfield that go out of play are treated the same as second throw from the infield. That is, the ball is dead and all runners, including the batter-runner, are awarded two bases from the time of the throw.
OK, that almost didn't look good. Goes down as a nice catch though, unlike what the Twins attempted to do last inning...
Marwin's AB right there.......jesus. Such a pro AB. Fights off a bad pitch 2-2 and crams the mistake in to right field for the knock. I love it.
