We doing everything, interested in all the scrubs in the world but cant put our ego aside and renegotiate with House.
It shows a salary for the 19-20 season on spotrac. And a UFA starting for the 2020 season. Not sure what you’re seeing
We need to have the priority right, House is not going anywhere, he will be rockets before and after the trade deadline
Depends how things work out. If for exampleG Gordon is traded may need a guy like him to somewhat replace him depending on the position we trade for
While in the Blazers, he had a season where he led the league in 3pt % or 3pt made. I can't remember. All I remember is that I had him in my fantasy team and was incredibly impressed. He always defended harden better than most during those playoff series as well. He has fallen off, but I believe it's because of the poor system in Dallas that doesn't take advantage of his skills. His 3pointers would shoot right up next to harden. He's basically the perfect Ariza replacement. I'm very high on us signing him more so than DJ.
IMO He would get by far the most playing time with us and he would start. More minutes than any of those teams except probably OKC. Not to mention this precious remainder of MLE money which Morey has shelved House for.
As today Matthews would start here, but same for OKC, we can offer him more money though... Was also just giving a look at the other teams, and i really have a difficult time finding a team that will be able to trade for DeAndre, the few teams that are without a center are either tanking or they just don't have the expiring salaries to make it work...for example Charlotte could be a team interested, but they don't have expiring contracts to trade, and they already have multiple guys in the spot, Zeller, Biyombo, Hernangomez, Kaminsky...the Spurs played LMA at center for over a year at this point, not sure they're going to change that, but let's say they would think about it, they don't have the salaries to match unless they trade Gasol (7M guaranteed for next season)...to me they'll either keep him or buy him out, i just don't see a trade happening for DeAndre...
If the Warriors are still willing to sign players (they are at $145m in salaries right now) while Tilman is looking to split the use of our assets between improving now and dumping salaries (we are at $131m right now), then I don't think we really have a chance. Consider for a moment that the 2 lowest value contracts we have are Brandon Knight (essentially -$15m) and Chris Paul (probably another -$15m in value). Their worst contract is Iggy (who makes $16m, so let's call him -$8m) followed by Livingston (who makes $8m, so let's call him -$4m). They are still getting dramatically more value out of their $145m than we are getting out of our $131m. Not to mention they have several bargains with Curry $37m, Durant $30m (LESS THAN CP3), Thompson $18m, Cousins $5m. That is to say, even if we upped our salaries to $145m, we would probably not be getting as much value out of ours. So if we're out here pinching pennies and Warriors are in the hunt for buyout players, it's really disheartening. We're lucky we have Harden, Morey and MDA (though Morey is significantly responsible for the productivity of our assets) but it pisses me off to hear Tilman say "whatever it takes" in an interview. AT LEAST match the team salary of the team you're trying to beat. The fact that we were in contention with the Warriors with $20m+ of our assets non-performing is incredible. If we are in contention again in these playoffs, we can thank Morey, MDA and Harden. They are climbing a much bigger hill than you imagine.
Ehhh I don't think we would be the favorites but I do think that he would get plenty of playing time. He is a high volume three point shooter that hits a good amount of them, he would get shots and minutes unless we add someone better. Also, defensively he isn't as long as we would like but he would switch appropriately.
They need long 3's.... that is what they miss most about Ariza. He was long and could defend 4 spots adequately on switches. I'll live with a 3 that shoots 32-33% on volume 3's if they can guard multiple spots well...... makes a HUGE difference in our defense.
