We lost to Jahlil freaking Okafor, got killed by Joel Embiid, embarassed by Jokic, and probably get blown out by Rudy Gobert and company... should I continue? Capela is out for another month and this team is looking like it’s about to run out of gas. They can’t defend, can’t rebound, can’t block shots, and are getting killed on the offensive boards. You need a guy like DJ to come in and control the paint while Capela is out and have Faried come off the bench for energy. When Capela comes back you start Capela and bring in DJ as his backup so that you can have the same offense running while Capela is off the court. Faried can play spot minutes, help PJ at the 4 and play a small lineup when we face teams like GS. 3 bigs is never a bad thing especially when Capela can’t seem to play more than 30 minutes.
Mirotic would get exposed in the playoffs defensively but so did Ryan Anderson... at least Mirotic would show up offensively.
No the Knicks made that trade to clear cap space, have the opportunity to draft Zion, and bring in KD and Kyrie this summer.
Now they have an opportunity to add Davis to the list this summer. They can't get all 3 ,but at least he is considering them
NY will not be trading for Knight because he is not expiring. NY is advertising that separately DJ and Matthews are available in trade to perhaps pick up a 2nd or two but realistically probably don't find a suitor that works because of roster spots. Those are large contracts and the only team with acceptable expirings and cap space is really Sac. I think they end up failing on deals and then buy them out. NY needs to continue tanking. NY did this early to kick the tires on AD and still have flexibility until Thursday.

He isn’t an expiring til next year. He doesn’t become a FA until the 20-21 season. If he was an expiring this year, he would be a lot easier to move without adding draft picks
