Um... we are already in July. Students will need to be scheduled in classes and in classrooms. Teachers will need to develop lesson plans. Schools will need to clean, disinfect, and set up class rooms. Books will need to be ordered and distributed. Schedules for extracurricular activities will need to be prepared. Materials will need to be created and distributed. All this needs to happen without knowing for sure if classes will be held in classrooms or virtually?
A waste of time and resources but the most important, the safety of children, teachers and their families will not really be threatened in the end.
If Dotard (and his administration) wants to open schools, probably not time to open schools. Part of his "become numb", "accept it" and "just live with it" "plan". So you know what that means. His dotards, including Dotard DeSantis and Dotard Abbott, will force kids back in school.
Ultimately I believe it will be in the teachers hands. Please, please, please collectively walk away from your jobs. Easy for me to say, I know.
You people are absolute idiots. Trump said it would disappear. He was just a few months early. By the end of August this thing will be over.
Shoot, very easy for you to say. TEA already said that STAAR will count this year. Little Johnny ain't choosing practicing math problems or reading over his millionth round of Forknight. And his mom can't tell him what to do so... For real though, it's happening. We are going back. We will orphan a few kids. We will lose some teachers. But damnit these kids are going to learn again.
I hate kids. So at least I now have a better excuses as to why I won’t hang out with my friends that have children.
Trump administration bars international college students if their school's classes are all online Colleges could be in a tough spot if they want to keep international students enrolled https://www.politico.com/news/2020/07/06/trump-international-students-ice-online-classes-349937 Of course... tweets from the past:

Given that you're a teacher, why/how do you equate STAAR and standardized tests with learning, and equate problem solving and critical thinking with rote memorization?
STAAR is a poor tool to use to measure learning if you are referring to learning the curriculum. Some think it's too difficult. I don't know. We don't have a reliable tool to measure straight learning, IMO. Here's the thing, though, students don't pass STAAR if they can't problem solve, think critically, and comprehend what they're reading. Those tests are beasts that eat up most of the state's students, teachers, and principals. In that way, STAAR is the best tool we have to measure our students' abilities as problem solvers, thinkers, and readers. And the results are all over the place, unfortunately.
He's already asked "Why are they in the country?" http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php...-their-school-is-doing-remote-classes.305825/
