JR Smith has the full benefit of Lebron James by his side. He's just fortunate enough to be playing next him. He may be a little more controlled now but JR Smith overall is still the same player. People just want to view him as different just bc of their championship run

JR changed his defence. He always had the tools but never the mindset. If he hadn't changed that and was still the same as in the past Lebron or not Lebron he would still be one way streaky player.
Shumpert hasn't changed next to Lebron for example.

Also even at his worst JR was still more talented than Young.

I think Nick Young would have been a great pickup for the Rockets. Great injury assurance as well.

The Rockets definitely need more depth. If we judge by how he plays now it would be nice to have him. But I'm not sure if this change is because of Walton or he has matured as a player.

It was over the summer and the cap would have been tight already. However I would have sacrificed Ennis IMMEDIATELY

He has probably matured cause he's basically in his contract year.

Perhaps, but that really cuts into KJs minutes.

It makes more sense to bring in a PG that can manage the offense when Harden sits than a pure scorer like Young.

The point is I don't think the Spurs would trade for Ben McLemore and "turn him into a star" as suggested in post #98.

I was disappointed when Marcus Thorton was sent off so I probably wouldn't have mind if Young was on this team.

Are you new to basketball, or are you just completely blind? Because SA turns average players into very productive role players - like Danny Green, Jonathan Simmons, Nikola Milutinov, Aron Baynes, Tiago Splitter, Marco Bellineli, Gary Neal......... do I need to go on?

McLemore has ALL the tools to thrive in San Antonio's system. Don't disregard the fact that Sactown is an absolute dumpster fire either... could possibly contribute to his Brewer-esque play.

And nick young would have the full benefit of playing with James Harden. Leadership isn't the same but playing with Harden certainly has LeBron like benefits.

Each of these players were either draft picks (Milutinov, Splitter) or free agent signings. I still don't think the Spurs would *trade* for McLemore.
