Also, I think Z-Bo's heart will keep him in Memphis, but those that think he can't play with this team should re-consider. There will be times when we can't utilize him, Nene did great with us and he's not the fastest guy. Also, Z-Bo has seen just about enough of the Warriors. Dude would be a huge asset off the bench.
Would be good for the half court game with / paul.. When gordon, Anderson, and Harden are on the bench.
Those aren't exception type players, they are max type players. This thread was meant for guys we might target with exceptions.
nene may not be the fastest guy but he is athletic. also nene is great at pick and roll. things zbo are not. zbo is neither athletic or fast. he just has an old mans game. thats why i said he would probably pass out in this system
Tucker, Ingles or Miles - with a thin bench we will need someone that can play at least two positions well. The choice depends on who our PF starter is. If we keep Anderson or get Carmelo, I would go for Tucker. If we sign Millsap, I'd go for Ingles or Miles. Wouldn't mind having a look at Gay, but I doubt the MLE is enough. PPat is not good or versatile enough to fit this role. Ony plays the PF and his skill is very limited - no rebounding, playmaking or rim-protecting, mediocre shooter. Nene (or someone comparable) is a must with the BAE. Then fill in the rotation with a couple of ring-chasers (Lee?) Gordon, Ingles, Lee, Nene is a decent bench. Maybe lacking in athleticism.
Dwyane Wade. He's a HOF but at this point I wouldn't consider him a "star" st this late stage of his career. He would be a great replacement for Sweet Lou off the bench.
Mirotic got benched in Chicago for some weird reason so maybe he can be had. I really want some fighters ala Ibaka, Tucker, Millsap. No more p*****s, we have enough of them.
Galinari Ibaka Gay Ilyasova PJ Tucker Tony Allen Patterson Thabo Felicio Nick Young Nene McLemore Speights Stuckey Tolliver Sullinger Hawes Bass Scola
I think based on the press conference today we can safely include Nene in the Rockets plans. Which makes rotation: CP3 Harden/Gordon Ariza Anderson Capela/Nene I'd be surprised if rockets would be willing to devote anymore than min for another center. With two great point guards, rockets will probably target a SG as a 4th guard. They will also probably play some with Harden/ego/CP3 on the court at the same time, meaning less need for backup sf. That makes backup PF there biggest need, given that anderson has no clear backup and can't be counted on for extended minutes. I can see a long wing like Dekker was getting there bulk of backup PF minutes but also some SF in a pinch. Roberson would be an interesting choice who could fill backup minutes at SG/SF/PF. Nick Young and Korver could fill that 4th guard sharpshooter role. Omri Casspi, mbah moute could also make sense.
Per cyberx, we might as well pencil in Swaggy P into our roster. That would be a great low cost/high value get.
