LOL, Luther will be demoralised and turn up a shell of his former self next season.

Hope he proves me wrong though.

Possibility. He has two straight horrendous playoff series, now this could be the icing on the cake if he gets embarrassed too bad. He might hang em up.

I agree. He just needs more confidence. And with all the bashing from the Rocket fans, his confidence level is on an all-time low.

I think this is a mistake. Who in their right minds would pick Luther to be on any team? This coming from someone who used to be in love w/ him. Let's face it. The '07 playoffs messed him up for life.

Head is not as bad as some of you might think. Teams can always use guys who can make open Js and Luther can do that. He gets in trouble when forced to get his own shots.

C'mon, guys... maybe the Jazzholes are just a bad matchup for Luther. Afterall, that IS the team he played both years in the playoffs.

Either way, whatever, congrats to Luther.

Someone might actually take him now and give us far more than we deserve in return!

    Go, Luther!!!

(for those whose grammar is poor, my 'go luther' is telling him to go)

Good for Luther, and good for Rockets. Just want to know why they chose him.

Just realized that they need him to simulate the plays of Chinese guards. :D

Chinese team is not really a threatening opponent for the US team. But the Greeks and Spaniards are. So I think his primary role is to mimic the plays of VSpan, the Greek Tmac :)

In that case, reprising his playoff performances vs. Utah will do rather nicely.

Luther's getting all the blame for another Rockets 1st round playoff exit. He worked his way back into the main rotation after starting the season on the outer. Adelman doesn't have the same trust in Head as JVG did for 4th quarters. IMO he was the 3rd best guard on the team last season, his shooting was better than McGrady & Alston's ...in regular season.

That's the key right there. IN REGULAR SEASON.

What's the point of having a rotation player who only contributes during the regular season?

I won't disagree that Head is the 3rd best guard during the regular season. He does contribute as a rotation player then.

What I think we're all upset about is his disappearing acts in the playoffs 2 years running. You might say maybe the Jazz are just a bad team matchup for him. Well, having fallen prey to them once, don't you think he'd figure out how to handle them the 2nd time around? But there he goes MIA again.

People wanna rag on Shane for disappearing in the playoffs, but he brought his customary 10 points and good outside shooting. Luther, on the other hand, is little more than a dummy on offense against the Jazz. Heck, he can't even get a shot up, and that's the only thing he's good for. That's how bad he's disappearing.

Shane's a starter, he's meant to make a difference. His standards are set higher. Luther's an option who may or may not get off the bench in a game.

Way too much unwarranted hate. I will admit I definitely would not mind trading him, but it's not like I want to give him away for a bag of chips. Do you remember last offseason? When everyone wanted Rafer gone for said bag of chips? Look how we did in our time without him.

Luther was one of my favorite Rockets in 05-06. I remember back then I always said that if we traded him we would regret it because he was going to be something special. Two years and two disappointing playoff series later I realize that I was wrong.

But the hate he gets on here, people calling him talentless is just too much. Hating Luther is the cool thing to do on Clutchfans, so all you mindless sheep just go along with it.

That being said I'm happy for Luther and I think this will be a good experience for him. Whether this raises his stock considerably is up for debate. I'm all for trading him but if we're not going to get anything worthwhile in return I'd rather keep him.
