http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/53613/20080716/usa_select_team_announced/ Ten top young NBA players were named today by USA Basketball to the 2008 USA Basketball Men’s Select Team that has been chosen to help prepare the 2008 USA Senior National Team for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, scheduled to take place Aug. 10-24 in Beijing, China. The ten players named to the USA Basketball Select Team include: LaMarcus Aldridge (Portland Trail Blazers); Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City NBA); Jeff Green (Oklahoma City NBA); Luther Head (Houston Rockets); Al Horford (Atlanta Hawks); Andre Iguodala (Philadelphia 76ers); Kevin Martin (Sacramento Kings); O.J. Mayo (Memphis Grizzlies); Derrick Rose (Chicago Bulls) and Rodney Stuckey (Detroit Pistons). Huh?
I bet even Luther is sratching his head on this one. But hey at least this may increase his trade value. Maybe he might learn how to dribble and pass a little, lol.
I have this song in my head... "One of these things is not like the others. One of these things just doesn't belong. Can you tell which is not like the others by the time I finish my song?"
He should thrive against inferior international competition in the Olympics I guess. Plus he's just about the only guy with a dependable outside shot on that team, unless OJ Mayo is able to light it up.
This is great news.. Head's scoring threat from beyond the arc and his dribbling skills will prepare the Senior team for the real bad guys come Olympics time.
it's all about confidence with luther. he played REALLY well for us in 06-07 in the reg. season. ever since last yr's playoffs, i don't know what happened to him. dude used to be extremely clutch for us.
