On the fence about bringing back Van Gundy, however this was my favorite post game quote "this team needs a knife fighter"....

pretty sure tinman only watches basketball games from the clutch city era on loop. his opinions on modern day basketball are irrelevant.

I agree, but we could be a force to reckon with if we could sway things over with Dwight and have JVG as our coach. History proves JVG is successful when he has a great center, especially on defense.
Or we can just load up on exceptional scorers/playmakers and bring in JVG to establish a defensive culture! Food for thought...

The only thing that concerns me about JVG is how long will Harden buy into what JVG is preaching. Actually, that's the only thing I'm wondering about any coach the Rockets hire. Who does Harden respect? Is there any coach that can get through to Harden?

JVG is very respected in this league. After failing with McHale and JBB, the pressure will be on Harden, not JVG to turn things around. He pisses on JVG and he will start a lot worse in the media.

Harden is coachable unlike Francis and Stromile Swift. Those two are the only guys I remember clashing with JVG. All the Rockets need is an actual coach. With McHale they were like the Vinny del Negro Clippers and Mark Jackson Warriors. Hire someone who knows how to do their job and a Harden led team can wreck the league.

Sounds like cognitive dissonance (sour grapes)to me. Saying something to make yourself feel more comfortable about an uncomfortable situation - that (uncomfortable situation) being no teams beating down your door to come and work for them.

I cant believe that the only coach who was PERFECT was Adelman! Loved that man! This makes me resent Morey more.

That's not what cognitive dissonance means. That word is essentially the modern version of using "literally" in figurative speech.

Also, several team have inquired to JVG's availability, and the news is publically available.

I love JVG as a commentator...

I love JVG's knowledge of the game, but i'm very worried about him coaching the players in this era..

Adelman might be the best coach we've had in the past 30 years.
