Thats why i started hating the Jazz in thr first place when Malone was there, together with Stockton, Hornacek, they played very dirty. If you watch the video a few times you will notice Malone deliberately move his rear towards the path Nachbar is already up in the air and dunking the ball. Thats serious dirty play, he's out to hurt someone. Glad to see Nachbar doing well, i remembered he was one of Yao's close friends
He's playing on a horrible team, and just stat padding. In the last few years, he played on decent Euroleague teams, and he put up very pedestrian numbers, and on some teams he barely even got playing time. A couple times he almost didn't even get a contract for the whole season. The German teams should not even be in the Euroleague. They are not up to the level. With that being said, Boki looks like he actually trained in the off season and lost weight. He was really way overweight in recent years. It looks like he finally got in shape. Still, his numbers for the season, on such a terrible team, translate to at best 8 points and 5 rebounds, on any solid Euroleague team.
I still can't believe they called him for a foul on that block. It was all ball and Malone initiated all the contact. Nachbar should have wagged the finger!
Boki had all the physical skills... excellent jumper, good handles, very long, quick and could shoot well....... it just never translated to the NBA like it should have. He was a very inconsistent player...
Wasn't he just getting around 3M a year contracts? Then the Euro teams started to offer high salaries and also pays your income tax, for some players the $ is definitely more in Europe so they moved over.

I think Yao once mentioned that Boki still owed him $50 or something. What Boki will be remembered on Clutchfans: 1. We drafted him with the Toronto pick that we got from the Hakeem trade. 2. The heroic against Malone 3. The DaDakota-SamFisher bet
....and then it turned out they couldn't pay him, and he couldn't get a job back in the NBA. Tayshaun Prince laughs.
Surprised you're the first one to mention Tayshaun Prince. Leading up to the 2002 NBA Draft, most people knew that the Rockets were going to pick Yao #1 (Rudy, Carroll and Co. went over to China and everything). As for the #15 pick, it was widely rumored that the decision was between Nachbar and Prince. It's regrettable that Nachbar's career didn't have quite the trajectory of Prince's (who was obviously aided by an amazing ensemble cast of veterans in Detroit), although Boki showed flashes of why the Rockets took him over Prince.
They drafted him because Rudy and Carroll thought that they had found the next Rudy . . . again. Remember the infamous Joe Ash shooting drill that he aced, like Mirsad Turkcan, Jason Collier, Dan Langhi before him....
