I get it that we were trying to get Bosh, but Morey should have had a concrete agreement in hand before getting taken to the cleaners by the Lakers. It was not that much of a stretch that a desperate Miami would make a max offer to keep their second best player. If it were a decent trade like the Asik trade then no issue with taking the risk, but Morey gave away the ranch on this one and we will pay for this for years to come. He gave the Lakers a good player in Lin, a first rd pick, a second round pick, and 8 million dollars to boot. Awful, awful, awful trade. Worst trade in recent nba history. 2 first rd picks next year (and keeping Parsons for 900k) could have kept us in the Love talks, but now we have no negotiating power. I can't be the only one upset about the horrific mismanagement that has taken place this offseason!!!

He didn't belong on this team when your trying to win a championship now.

Love the kid but his time in Houston was done

    It's true.

This was worse than the Parsons deal. Lin would have had some value come the trade deadline.

I agree his time here was done but i dont agree with your reasoning. You are nasically saying he was traded for basketball reasons. That is incorrect

Just because someone is a murder doesn't give you the right to be the same.

    Obvious LOF.

Worst trade in recent history? Taken to the cleaners? Lost the ranch?
    Nice trolling tactics.

Glad he is gone but I have to agree with the OP. We would have a lot more bargaining power come trade deadline time. This actually had me a little more upset than losing
    Parsons.

Morey has explained it multiple times now. Teams with the cap to take Lin wanted more than one first (seconds have no value so who cares about that). We had to act fast on the Lakers because their cap was disappearing (signed Hill+Young immediately after taking Lin, was also trying to re-sign Pau).

It sucks to give up a solid player AND our first BUT it had to be done.

If they had kept Lin, he's off the books next year, or signed back at a reasonable salary, and they still have 2 draft picks. Should have waited until they had a verbal from Bosh before pulling the trigger.

    WHO IS LIN?

Lin didn't want to sacrifice for his team & become a better defender and plan in a role that fits with the team..
he wanted to make his own choices on the court, He was not going to be paid that in Houston regardless.. parsons didn't even get the 15 Mil here Lin damn sure wasn't either lol

Also after how Lin acted during the recruitment of Melo, I was over him.
