My source is a pitching coach that I know who is also a scout for the Astros. He said he has been working with Tracy McGrady on his pitching. He said he is actually pretty decent. Said he has a strong arm and learns quickly.

The scout went to the Skeeters and asked if they'd let Tracy try out for the team, and they said yes.

So he's been working with him in hopes that he will be joining the Skeeters this upcoming year.

Just some interesting info I learned today.

    Skeeters?

The state of the Astros, I think they need to give him a look.

Move over Mark Appel, Mike Foltynewicz, and (probably) Carlos Rodon

No idea. I'm sure he must. Why else would he be training with a pitching coach here in Houston and looking to join a local team and not train and join a team someplace else?

How many games before he gets frustrated, fakes a shoulder injury right after he throws the ball into the stands, and rides the bench on his way past the 1st round?

Well, he can do whatever he wants. More power to him and good luck.

He still lives in Sugar Land, so home games for the Skeeters would only be 10-15 minutes from his house, and baseball was always his first love, but he was naturally better at basketball.

I thought he left Sugarland years ago. Is the Houston area still a popular place to live for NBA players (and ex-players)?
