Who should be the starting PF on this team?

    Patterson's case:
Patterson gives way more on the defensive end
He's more atheletic and more physically gifted
Patterson showed against the Celtics that he can produce against top defensive squads and top defensive PFs
Patterson's is more of the Championship PF then Scola

    Scola's case:
    More Experience
    Better 1 on 1 game
Better with back to the basket
At this point know's the Rick Adelman offense more

Id choose Patterson because of his defense and he will only get better while Scola aging

At this point, i'm going to say Patterson. When Scola isn't scoring, he becomes a liability. Good luck convincing Adelman to make the switch permanently. Patterson will be better than Scola next season because of his defense.

One thing i noticed about Kyle is as the game goes along, he starts missing fast break passes.

Patterson right now.. Scola is hurt and has no hustle right now. Luis without his hustle is 20% man.

Depends on matchups, but the writing's on the wall- Patterson is the PF of the future.

Patterson for me. I'd like to see the Rockets trade Scola in the offseason, if they can add a significant piece in doing so.

I would be ok with keeping both through next season, but Patterson needs minutes somewhere. I wouldn't mind seeing 2Pat/Chuck rotation.

Love Scola, but would be good with the Rockets ridding themselves of that contract, even with the last year not being so bad.

Scola has given it his all in the last few years, I don't see why I'd pick one over the other. They both bring different things to the table.

Now this'll start the Landry jinx, from the last time we wanted a young athletic forward to start over Scola. Lets reverse it before Patterson's teeth get knocked out and he gets shot at.

Even with the assumption that Patterson's recent games aren't a fluke(a HUGE assumption to be sure), Scola should still be the starter.

There is something to be said that real life basketball isn't the same as theorycrafting. Quite simply put, Scola has senority and has proven himself in the league. As much as I believe Scola's a team-first guy, he's still a veteran who has started basically his entire career both here and in Europe. Unless Patterson starts playing at an all-star level where Scola feels he's the lesser player, there's no need to change the lineup.

It's not like it matters anyway. Patterson's getting starter minutes. He's just not getting the starting job. Either way, he's playing alot.

Now is not the time to start Ppat. You start him permanently right after Scola lands us a starting all-star center like DHoward of course.
