Not just asking here, I think he just might be. Your thoughts.

No, but Yao Ming is the new Bill Walton.

Trevor Ariza reminds me a lot of Shandon Anderson. Good defender that excels off the ball with limited handles. Lets hope Chase Bundinger or Taylor becomes our next Cuttino Mobley.

It's too early to say if he is or not,but it's a valid concern. I feel Ariza will do better than him.

    Who's Shandon Anderson?

I just remember someone on the Heat by that name, a scrub.

Shandon Aderson is the guy that gave us fits in the playoffs for 2 straight season while playing for the Jazz. Then he signed with us and did nothing.

He had the best 2 years of his career here, but thats not saying much. I think that is a good comparison with Ariza.

Yes, this signing does remind me a lot of the Shandon Anderson signing. Wow, I'm having flashbacks about the Francis years. Bunch of young athletic players, lot of potential, but no playoffs :( .

Anderson is worst case but reasonable. Posey is probably best case which isn't exactly good either.

Well, let's hope not. I'm tired of the Rockets picking up someone who had success on their last team, only be a scrub on this one.

This was what I was thinking. If that's the case, we overpaid.

Does this mean that Yao will win at least one championship with the Rockets?

How good of a defender was Anderson anyway? If I remembered right, he came off the bench for the Jazz with Russell being the starter. And those Jazz teams were much more known for their efficient offense(John Stockton stat-inflation effect) rather than defense. And of course, the last Rudy years weren't exactly known for defensive discipline.

So unless you can make a case that Shandon Anderson was at Ariza level of defensive prowess, then the comparison doesn't work.

Ariza is a better shooter and defender. With his length and agility, he's also a better defender as well.

Although, Shandon did very well attacking the glass and getting out in transition. Plus he had a high bball IQ.

This was too easy. Couldn't pass on the irony.

What's the story with you two, Yetti?
    Brother from a different mother?
