This is Clutch's wife. He's driving home from the Toyota Center and asked me to post this for him. Is this where he spends his time away from me?? Yes, he's a demented fan.

Daryl Morey came down and spoke to us about 15 minutes ago. He likes Brooks, likes his speed and likes Landry as well... BUT there was some dissapointment. The Rockets had a deal in the early 20's to get the player they wanted but they found out that it fell through right as that team made their draft pick. They tried to trade for a pick after that and before them because the player they wanted had not been picked. But they couldn't get another pick and the player they wanted went before them. Morey did not say which player he wanted or which team that he had the deal with that fell through.

Newley will remain overseas.

Hmmm.. I can only assume it was a player before #24. Especially since #24 could have easily been bought.

I think the Rockets wanted Almond, but the Jazz did what they did.

I hate Utah.

Not if the deal was for the early 20's. They would have known that deal was going to fall through when NJ took him at 17 instead of right when the team they were dealing with made their pick.

So the player we wanted went right before us?

If that's the case it's Morris Almond. I wish we would've purchased the 24th pick and gotten him.

Thank you Mrs. Cluth.

Almond? Damn Utah.

But still there is no excuse for Morey when plan A didnt work, there is still a PF to fix while drafting more undersized guards.

Do the freaking homework.

Also, I would've liked Herbert Hill instead of Brad Newley for christ's sake. But guess who got Hill?

The Utah Jazz.

It's either Almond, Fernandez, or possibly Jared Dudley. My guess is Fernandez.

I don't know what will happen but the Rockets need to make a trade. Too many guards and too many undersized PF's.

Looking at who got picked, it looks like Cook, Almond, Fernandez, or Jason Smith. Who knows.

Interesting. I just hope he has some plan in mind to unload some of these guards and hopefully bring in another power forward in case Landry doesn't cut it. I'm all for giving the kid the benefit of the doubt, but I don't want our season to hinge on the success of Carl Landry.

Thanks for loaning us your husband for the past 9 years and tell him I said thanks for the site and hard work it takes.

I"m going to reserve judgement on the draft until the post season is over.
