Utah has been nothing but a nuisance to us this year. First, losing to them in Game 7 of the first round of the playoffs then now taking Morris Almond (one prospect I wished the Rockets would've drafted) one pick from when we were going to pick.

Utah will be a force for the years to come and sadly it was at the expense of the Rockets.

My guess is Fernandez too. A guy that can drive and shoot. Almond is just a shooter. Damn, it's just 3 millions bucks Les.

Bingo. The odds of any player in the late teens to the twenties being a make or break player are extremely slim.

Portland is just stacking up on talent. They've got Aldridge, Oden, and Frye rotating along with Lafrentz and Pryzbilla for the 4/5 slots. At the wings, they've now got Brandon Roy, Rudy Fernandez, and Martell Webster with Udoka and Travis Outlaw as free agents. At the point, they've got Jarrett Jack, Sergio Rodriguez, and now Petteri Koponen.

Come to think of it, they're a team that could use an experienced PG...

This is exactly what I thought when the pick was announced.

Daryl Morey is Kevin Pritchard's biatch. :p

"Oh what's that Daryl, you want Brandon Roy.....too bad" -2006

"You like Rudy Fernandez? I'll take him for you" - 2007

Damn those Blazers. Also Paul Allen > Les.

    It was Morris Almond.

Check out the interview(right hand corner) with Dean Cooper, Rockets director of scouting . At the 2:00 min mark, He says after Morris Almond was drafted, they felt Aaron Brooks was the next best player.

They look like Chicago...lots of defense, lots of potential on offense, but no low post scoring. I think it will take Oden a while to be an offensive force. I think Aldridge is soft. It made sense to dump Randolph for a lot of reasons, but he is a damn good power forward. Portland is going to be a load, but I still don't see them in the Rockets league for a few years.

    Make a trade with Portland.

Blazers are desperate to be rid of Miles.

Miles, Fernandez & Frye/McRoberts for Alston, Head, Sura, JL3.

Chill out sports fans. Morey said before the draft that pf would be addressed through trades or FA. We need to see what happens in the rest of the off season.

They were going to trade up and get Almond so that they could trade him for Diogu. An article with Bird confirms it.

READ!!!! Why will Rockets need Morris Almond, he's just a shooter. Rudy Fernandez is a full package, shoot, drive, sheet, size and guts.

ONCE THAT FELL THROUGH, they were going to get Almond for the Pacers. Then once that went bad, they went with Plan C. I think that is all pretty clear now.

Well, we got to see how Morey drafts ... he sucks. Now let's see if he can make up for it in trades and FAs. But this isn't encouraging.
