Not that I'm happy to see someone getting injured, but this team is one AD injury away from having that pick drop to 10 or below.

On top of that...Omer hasn't even played well in New Orleans.

Isn't he performing at almost the exact same level as his first year in Houston? Very solid C defensively, leaves a lot to be desired offensively.

Whoever the GM is for that team needs to be fired.

They gave up Robin Lopez for basically nothing, and then trade away a lottery pick for Omer Asik.

I don't think RoLo is as good as Asik, but he's not that far off.

Pretty much. Main reason he was passable the first year in Houston is because we played 4-out 1-in and had really good spacing that year. On the Pellies, with the pace they play, Anderson having an off year and the rest of their personnel...it's not good.

Curious if NOP is further out of playoff contention in a month would they move Anderson for Terry and Shved? That's gotta be something they have to think about, no?

They might consider it, but they will want something of value. Maybe the NYK 2nd and one of Canaan/Johnson?

I don't see why they'd salary dump the guy.

He's having an off year and might be up for trade though.

I think you just copied and pasted some scouting report on Asik.

Asik hasn't even been good on defense with the Pelicans.

    Monty Williams sucks.

They have Asik, Davis, and Holiday, yet a bottom-tier defense.

    Is the NOP pick protected?

1-3 and 20-30 protected. So basically if the Pelicans miss the playoffs, we'll have a 4th-14th pick.

    Yes.

    protected top 3, and 20-30.

So if it falls 4-19, it goes to Houston. Very little doubt it is coming to Houston based on record (ie, the Pelicans were never going to make the playoffs, and so it was always going to be a late lotto). Only downside is if the balls bounce the right way and they jag a top 3 pick out of the season...

If the Pistons pass them it'll be slotted for #12, hard to imagine it falling much lower unless AD misses significant time. At that point, maybe Omer will develop ovarian pains and shut it down in frustration like he did last yr

No doubt. 2 lottery picks for jrue. Sign and trade for evans on a big deal. trade a lottery for omer. draft austin rivers with a lottery

4 lottery picks for jrue, omer and rivers.... not good value.

Then why are fans so eager to include this very valuable pick in a trade before the deadline?

The Rockets should go hard with who they have.. maybe a minor upgrade.. and save the pick to either use or trade further down in the draft.

as Clutch and MK said on the podcast, the Rockets should only trade for another facilitator who can take some of the load off Harden (Dragic, Lawson, etc.)

If that player isn't available, it may be better to hang onto the pick. Having good players on rookie deals is how you keep a core of max players together.

Hopefully Winslow is still on the board
