Westbrook isn't shooting very well at the moment, so he needs his team mates to score and Kanter has been doing that
Is this the same Reggie Jackson who is tearing it up in Detroit? WB is doing other things besides chucking, but he is getting his points mostly by chucking. Just check out his FG% a guy shooting as bad as he is shouldnt be taking more shots than the rest of the starters combined. No one has an issue with his heart, defense and killer aggresiveness but when you point out to stuff like he's MVP and post up his game averages then to be honest you are just overrating him. Just because the guy is a human highlight reel doesnt mean everything he does is right, how many times do you see Tim Dunca on ESPN?
If the season ended today, Westbrook would have the 3rd highest season usage rate of all time. usage = estimated % of team plays used by a player while he is on the floor. That is all

Russ is a little confused. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Russell Westbrook is at it again, repeating that he's 'a little confused' <a href="http://t.co/ArooiIOT8B">http://t.co/ArooiIOT8B</a> <a href="http://t.co/qbomF8ut91">pic.twitter.com/qbomF8ut91</a></p>— CBS Sports NBA (@CBSSportsNBA) <a href="https://twitter.com/CBSSportsNBA/status/581096332825391105">March 26, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
I love Russ. He's absolutely carrying his team and making Kanter look like an all-star. He's also taking no crap from the media.
Russ is right. Media only asks questions when you lose even if the problems are there when you win. OKC has been porous defensively for a while now. Sometimes it's a tough job answering dumb media questions rather than play a ball game. They're winning b/c of offense.
No he's not. Ultimately sports isn't that complicated. Your score vs their score The fact that defense isn't brought up after wins isn't enormously surprising. I'd happily have the rockets win the championship giving up 110+ points a night and never have a reporter bring up defense. The reporter is bringing up defense now because they lost. That's what happens when you lose... You look for flaws. How is that confusing?
Did you read the question posted? The reporter asked "defensive issues as of late," even bringing up the last game's v. the Lakers. He didn't mention the poor defense v. the Spurs. So if that's your logic already, ask that after the Lakers game. I've seen it asked before of previously very good to great teams who had great offenses but porous defenses (Suns, early Webber Kings...). Good reporters do bring up team issues even when teams are winning. Bad ones like this guy... well, need a Russell Westbrook type of response.

No they don't, it makes you like a debbie downer who nitpicks everything. Have you ever seen a reporter ask Wade and Bosh why they scored 0 pts during when LBJ won his 2nd ring? In the case of OKC, a reporter can mention their defensive woes but the underlying story line is they overcame it with a win anyway so not a lot of emphasis is put on that question. If they lose though you need more input from the interviewee because you want them to hear their thoughts on what happened. It's not that complicated, WB just has his tough guy lashing out at media act always out...except when he's selling out to footlocker and under armour, then he's the best and most friendly media guy ever
