The Russell Westbrook thread.

He is averaging triple double for the season. First to do it this far into a season since oscar.

 

Any starting PF or C that has a lower rebounding average than Westbrook should be ashamed of themselves.

 

Instead of boxing out his own man, he is stealing rebounds from his own big men to pad his stats.

 

i don't understand how a guard can average 10 rebounds a game

 

Westbrook rebounding like a mad man is hilarious.

I seriously wonder if all the energy he is expending now...will eventually catch up with him later in the season. I guess we'll see.

 

Determination. The one thing I like about Russ is his determination.

I am convinced that energy, like athleticism, is a talent. Some players just have more than others.

 

Instead of a big getting the board and just tossing it to the PG anyway, the PG just gets the ball directly and assumes control, removes the "middleman" since everyone knows he's already getting it

Its how Jason Kidd would get a lot of boards, generally on the uncontested rebounds not in traffic. He'd step in front of the big for the board with intent to making a quicker play.

I think when Steve Francis used to out-board his bigs, he did it the greedy way just wanting to touch the ball always lol. WB just has the extra athleticism and stamina to run where the rebounds land
