I've been meaning to start this thread for a while. I thought it would be good to have a thread where the fans of live music on the bbs can post any upcoming shows that they are planning to check out. This will hopefully alert others of upcoming performances by artists they like, or maybe even turn people on to something new. Here are the ones I have planned in the near future: The Big Pink w/A Place to Bury Strangers - April 7th @ Warehouse Live Camera Obscura - April 11th @ Warehouse Live Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival - April 16th-18th - Indio, CA Beach House w/Washed Out - April 23rd @ Walters on Washington Also planning to head to Austin for a couple days of SXSW in March.
Ultra on March 26 and 27th. If anybody is coming down to Miami for the event PM me for discounts on some tickets.
ill be working behind the stage at Coachella. this years line up is sick! hope i can get some autographs. list of lineups http://coachella.com/event/lineup
Fantastic thread. There's always additions and subtractions but here's a rough list for the next month: 2/5 Dirty Dozen Brass Band @ Warehouse Live 2/13 Guitar Shorty @ The Big Easy 2/16 Kris Kristofferson & Merle Haggard @ Verizon (prob too expensive) 2/18 Soul Rebel Brass Band @ Continental Club (pumped) 2/20 Govt. Mule @ House of Blues (pumped) 3/04 Dark Star Orchestra @ House of Blues (SUPER-PUMPED!!) Not to mention any local guys like Luther & the Healers who I'll probably catch @ The Big Easy a few times.
The day Muse heads Coachella (2nd day?) has an insane lineup. Muse at the Toyota center I'm not too sure of. How is the Toyota center as a venue for an actual rock show?
I've been out of the country for the good portion of the past one and a half years so obviously I can't keep pace of my 60-75 show a year habit I used to have. Anyways, I'm trying to make it to SXSW this year, and also that Beach House show as well. That new Beach House album is my #1 album of the year so far. I was at the last Beach House show at Walter's a few years back. They made us wait like a full hour between their final set. I was kinda annoyed by that, b/c there were only maybe 50-75 people at that show as well and it was on a weekday. They finally went on stage at around 11:15PM, even though the previous act was done at 10PM.
January shows- Al Green; Them Crooked Vultures Last Night- AC/DC Monday night- Yo La Tengo March 1- Pavement March 3- Dirty Projectors March 11- The Pixies (club show) March 12- The Pixies (arena show) March 17- Dead Weather March 25- Massive Attack April 27- Wilco
Feb 19th, Austin - Balmorhea Feb 26th, Houston- The Appleseed Cast/Dreamend April 1st, Austin - Not To Reason Why(maybe) A few shows at SXSW.
Wow, you go to a lot of shows. None planned this year, but went to a few last year. Grizzly Bear TV on the Radio w/ Dirty Projectors Sonic Youth Virgin FreeFest (Weezer, Hold Steady, Franz Ferdinand, etc.) Ted Leo & the Pharmacists
Have a 7 week old at home...so no shows for me Last show I went to was The Walkmen and that was a while back Pre-kid, I probably went to 15 shows a year
Do you work it every year or will this be your first time? I've gone the last 2 years and will continue to go every year as long as I'm able to. Hook your Clutchfans brother up with some backstage or VIP wristbands. Funny you say that because I think Saturday is by far the weakest day of the weekend. I'm not a big Muse fan and I despise Tiesto and Kaskade, so that probably has something to do with it. There are still some solid acts that day, it's just the weakest for my tastes.
Just got my tickets last night! They put on a great show playing before Slayer (awesome!) and Marilyn Manson (suuuucked) at the AT&T Center in SA, so I am stoked to see them at Stubb's.
