If this is true, this could be the best news of the off season. A healthy and productive Clowney and Nix would go a loooong way for this team.

Sounds like he may have the right attitude this year. Let's hope his knee holds up. He's got the opportunity of a lifetime. Also, I expect him to be a key storyline on Hard Knocks.
Bye Bye saints Report: Saints opt out of practice with Texans, with ‘Hard Knocks’ a factor http://blog.chron.com/ultimatetexan...ith-hard-knocks-a-possible-factor/#33260101=0
Pretty weak... didn't see the Texans crying about it last year when the Falcons came for the joint practice.
We play the Saints in both the preseason and regular season. They probably didn't us to have all that practice footage.
Expect the Texans to start training camp on Saturday, August 1. Teams usually start camp two weeks before their first preseason game. The Texans first preseason game is August 15. That makes August 1 the first day of camp. The Texans will be one of the last teams to begin training camp. Most teams will start camp on July 30 or July 31.

Great news about Nix. Hopefully it's not just lip service. Any chance Wilfork's influence is the cause? Texans possibly have 2 drafts-worth of players introducing themselves this season, Clowney included.
Could be a huge season if guys like Nix, Clowney, Fiedorowicz, and so on are in a better position to contribute this year and we get anything at all from our rookie class. The Texans could legitimately win the division.
Still pretty weak... why even consider having a joint practice/pre-season game at all then? I think the real reason is that the Saints still employ some questionable practices... which when mic'd up, get revealed pretty quickly (just like the bounty-gate was revealed).
Depth chart lists Eddie Pleasant as a starter at strong safety. Hope he has improved from the past years.
O'Brien wouldn't publicly praise Nix if he were out of shape or didn't look good. He's not the coach to cater to players' egos.
Was Nix really that much of a problem? You guys are super down on him. The guy was hurt. This staff gets incredibly butthurt over injuries. They b****ed and moaned about Clowney's toughness, then he winds up suffering a career threatening injury. I get it. Vrabel yells really loud and talks about Bruschi returning to football after a serious heart condition, cool story bro. I don't remember Nix being a b****. I remember him being physically unable to perform at a high level. You know, that problem we knew he had when we drafted him, the only reason he dropped so far in the draft...
