Pride and Prejudice and Zombies - 6 out of 10. OK, perhaps it didn't stay entirely true to Austen's book. ;-) For a period movie, lots of nice eye candy. Surprisingly tame for a zombie movie. If you liked Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Killer you will probably like this one.

10 Cloverfield Lane - 9 out of 10. Lots of fun. My wife (who didn't see the first one and really isn't into these kinds of films) was confused at the transition, but still seemed to enjoy it. And anyone thinking about the first one might also be a bit confused or disappointed. Small cast (OK, so Goodman isn't small). Winstead was awesome. And Goodman had just enough creepy and funny to carry the film. And rumors of a third? Can't wait.

Spring Breakers - One of the oddest movies I've seen in a while. I still have no idea whether I loved it or hated it, so I'm not sure how to rate it.

Witch - 5.5/10. I mean it was well done but I couldn't understand half of the dialogue. It was creepy at times but it never quite hooked me.

Zootopia - 9.5/10. just a great movie for kids or adults.

Yeah, after about 3 sentences of dialogue I turned the captions on.

The director is doing a remake of Nosferatu (I'm assuming it's not a silent film this time), which will be interesting.

Unless it was a doc about Subway?

Ya, I wouldn't want it to be my nickname either.

    The Brother's Grimsby 8/10

It's hilarious. Highly recommend it for a good laugh or 2.

    The Shallows

Very good survival-horror movie. Keeps things simple. Just woman vs. shark. Blake Lively was excellent in it and was beautifully shot.

Look for the Galveston shout out...that was probably one of my favorite moments...being in a theater full of Texans. That's all I'll say.

    8/10

    Whiplash - 8/10

Very intense, awesomely shot and acted movie. Apparently the director was only 29, so I look forward to more by him.

    ID4: Resurgence

5/10: Saw it Thursday night. Had rather high hopes with 20 years to make a sequel to an almost perfect movie. Then I heard Emerich turned down dozens of scripts until he had one he liked. This movie is several notches below the original.

Finding dory, movie was very bland and repetitive. I missed the first 30 minutes trying find out where did my game day platter go. Had to reorder it again since they have to the people behind us. $110 for 2 game day platters and 2 kids meal chicken tenders with tickets included. Second time Movie Tavern screws me over.

I think I screwed up my ratings. I gave Whiplash an 8 and wanted to put it lower. Should have given Whiplash a 9.

    Yeah soundtrack is awesome.

I'd have to sit down and think about what the rest would be. But I'm certain I would put Whiplash in my top 5 movies in the last 3-4 years or so.

    Amazing Spiderman 2

    Came on FX.

It sucked, of course. Only noteworthy thing is that the soundtrack/score was surprisingly bad. Like, so bad that I wonder if they went out of their way to make it bad. Just really bad.

It indeed was great. I have one question.

How come the black musicians never get abused by the instructor? Is there a meaning to that? Also my alternate title for the movie: White people can turn even Jazz into a psycho thriller.

The Fundamentals of Caring (Netflix movie) 8.5/10. Really funny and really touching story, Paul Rudd plays a former writer turned professional care giver for a pretty funny disabled young man.

The "Galveston" shout out was one of the more plus moments I've experienced in a movie theatre.
