He's already leading in Blocks and Steals, 3rd in points but a bit behind in rebounding. If he leads in points, blocks and steals I would have no trouble giving him the MVP throphy. Right now, I would say Gasol, Curry, Harden, Lowry are more MVP worthy due to record.

He may not be MVP this year, but his current numbers are MVP worthy. He's very Akeem like in his production.

    MVP's make there teams better.

    He isn't doing that yet.

He needs to start taking people off the dribble more and becoming the center of an offense.

The pelicans would be Philly or Detroit without Davis. He is definitely making his team better. He just needs a better team.

He is nowhere NEAR close to Dream. Nor does he have that potential. Davis reminds me more of Shawn Kemp, to be honest. He might be slightly better version, but they have similar offensive games.

His low post game is rudimentary compared to dream and he is getting a lot of points by athletic-ability alone.

I suspect they wouldn't be that bad.

    Watch Davis on offense.

Clean up duty as well as pick and pops.

He isn't making his teammates better. He needs to take the ball out of his guards hands and create.

Akeem took the Rockets to the 1986 Finals in his second season, destroying the defending champions Laker 4-1 en route, scoring 35+ ppg in the four wins.

    just saying.

Also, Davis is now down to 3.1 bpg, which is Hakeem's entire CAREER AVERAGE spanning 17 seasons.

    just saying

Davis is still young - 21 and will only get better but I dont think he will be able to lead all 4 categories.

The Pelicans need to get the proper guys around Davis and really build around him - they sort of just tried to get as much talent as possible and put it around him except they have two guys who score first and second in Evans and Holiday. I don't believe Monty Williams is the coach for Davis going forward if the team is going to achieve success. The fact that he doesn't run more of the offense through davis is boggling

Who would we be if Harden wasn't in the 9 games with Howard, Jones and Beverley being injured.

Harden is carrying a group of scrubs.

Holiday, Evens and Anderson are all legitimate good starting players, and they have played ALL 17 games this year with Davis. That being said, Davis is still very young and will probably learn how to really start pulling W's for the Pellies a couple of years down the road from now.

You can't run an offense through him if he can't handle the low block, and nothing tells me he is able to do that yet.

no one would be Philly, don't be silly.

The point is: who are they WITH him...no better than any of Kevin Love's Minnesota teams, so far.

Yeah, he would win a ton of games if you traded Harden for Davis straight up and he was trying to win with Tarik Black at center and a third string PG starting with a D-League player backing him up. :roll eyes:

Harden swapped for Davis and New Orleans is immediately winning more games.

If you remove AD from NOH they would be the last place team in the league. They have a ton of high usage chuckers on the team and he is still a force. Props to him. I would still give James Harden mvp though. :3 I may or may not be a homer

No offence to the big guy, but hope he misses 30-40 games and that pick sits at 4.

What's crazy is that he averages 25 ppg and you don't even notice he's scored that much. Most of his points are put-backs, dunks, free throws, and open jumpers. The Pelicans don't really feature him in the offense... which is odd.

You don't really see him take over a game like Harden can.

If Davis starts doing that, his numbers will be off the charts.

Dream also had Ralph Sampson that year. Ralph Sampson ain't walking thru the door over in New Orleans. Hakeem also started in the NBA at 22. Davis is still only 21.

he's young. He'll be terrifying in 2-3 years. Defensively he's as big a threat as Dwight or KG used to be around the rim. Once Gordon's horrendous contract is gone they'll have much more room to breath.
