Prediction: Phil resigns before next season.

    Over/under anyone?

Dolan doesn't want specific friends of his fired, Phil Jackson wants to hire some of his friends. It's not about winning, it's about politics and pee-pee games.

More like Phil wants guys he believes are competent and that he TRUSTS. Considering that it's his job on the line, can you blame him?

GM's typically clean house when they're hired. Owners typically do NOT interfere.

It's not about politics, it's about Phil trying to build an organization in his image. And isn't that why you pay him $10M+ per year?

One thing you all can agree on... Knicks create a lot of drama. Grade A popcorn material.

Phil Jackson likes his friends. It's already clouding his judgement. He's a proven coach, not a GM. It's nice when Tex Winter is your friend. When Steve Kerr is your friend... we'll see what happens.

What does PJ's coaching tree look like? He's been coaching for 20 years and he has... what? Brian Shaw to show for it? He's not Pat Riley. He's not Bill Belichick. He's a great coach and ego manager. He doesn't run a coaching factory. Everyone hires their friends. Phil Jackson's friends suck and never do anything without him.

He develops players, not coaches. And it's gonna bite him right in the dick.

    LMFAO

Phil was hamstrung in Chicago by Crumbs Krause and Reindorf... he goes to LA and is shot down by Buss..... he goes to NY and is jaked by Dolan.

This isn't going to end well. Jackson is sick of owners and their ego's getting in the way.... and Dolan owns the team, and there is no doubt he isn't allowing a subbordinate tell him what to do.

Anthony is very well gone.... Jackson isn't 45 years old, he isn't going to put up with this BS.

Count down until Zeke Thomas comes slinking in on his belly telling Dolan that Jackson is talking #$% behind Dolan's back.

    This has EPIC potential.

The Knicks hired Jackson to make these kind of decisions, so I think you let him do his thing....... having said that Steve Kerr is a moron. He doesn't really know X's and O's (he said so on the radio in Chicago recently) and he isn't like McHale where he is a leader with a comanding personality.

That's how you know Jackson isn't capable of making them correctly.

    Touche.

Part of me feels that Jackson believes he was never financially compensated to the extent he deserved for winning so many Titles. The Knicks are his payday.

Well it's either hire his own friends or keep Dolan's friends onboard and I don't see how Dolan's friends would be the better option

NYK have had a top 3 to 5 easiest schedule so far. Steve Kerr is a smart guy.

It is very sad rooting for the Knicks. Almost as sad as being a Mets fan.

Did people really expect this Knicks team to be any different from last season? It's not like Phil's out there coaching. I'm no Phil fan by any means, but he inherited a ton of dead weight: Amare, Bargnani, JR, etc. are all untradeable players. No team in their right mind would absorb any of that salary and most of New York's first-rounders were traded away before he got there.

Now, what he does the Amare cap space will be telling, but they're stuck with JR and Bargs. Carmelo showed what he's about when he didn't sign with a contender this year and he is going to keep scoring meaningless points in meaningless games for years to come.

The Knicks are different. The problem is that they are not only not better than last year's team, they are actually worse by pretty much every measure. Worse on D, worse on O, worse on special teams.

And the one significant move that Phil did make has been a big negative so far. Tyson Chandler is thriving in Dallas and Jose Calderon hasn't even played in NY.

Only LeBron can make it happen for PJ. His system doesn't work without the best player in the NBA.
