If they ever ran a black light over your hands, I'm fairly certain it would explode.

You should not take that as a compliment.

I think its completely acceptable in my book. I don't think I would on new dates though. Not a good look if both you and the date thinking how much longer before food spoils sitting in car. A good gal will insist you take it maybe, that would be a down to earth move.

the only time it might be acceptable to not take leftovers is if you're planning to go somewhere else on the date. i wouldn't want the smell permeating in the car. too much of a distraction and the smell might stick to your clothes. but if you're taking her home after dinner, a woman who thinks it's uncool to take left-overs home tells me all i need to know about her regardless if it's a first date. i'm not wasting another dime on her.

People are so uptight. Why would that make you look cheap? and why would you care if someone perceived you as cheap over something like this? People who worry that much about a silly thing like leftovers are not worth your time.

If you are so worried about looking cheap then give the food to a homeless person. I am sure they would appreciate the meal. Don't throw away perfectly good food.

Well, la-di-da, look at this poster who thinks he's better than a Twin Peaks waitress.

This is perhaps the most uncool "Please tell me whether I'm cool guyz!" thread this BBS has ever had.

The only time it's uncool, is when your on a date with a snob. If, however, what your trying to take home is the LAST bite of the stake or half a dinner roll left over from your meal, then you will come across as being cheap! Even though you paid for it, it's better to leave those scraps behind!...

If she's that worried about you being cheap just throw your wallet down on the table and ask her how much for the night.

I always take home whatever meat my wife or I have left from our meals. And I'm not ashamed to say bones (other than chicken) as well. Got a beautiful house guarding pit bull in the backyard who deserves to enjoy the finer things as well.

I agree this seems like a weird conversation. On the dates I've been on where this has come up it is the woman who has asked for the takeout box. My GF has some intestinal issues so when we eat out we pretty much always have leftovers and she always ask for a to go box.

Also as other posters said this is one reason why we have debt, obesity and waste so much food. We don't really value food. At the end of the Rox games me and my buddies couldn't finish the order of tater tots, I couldn't because I was disgusted with how OT went, so we just gave them away to others in the bar.

What if you're on a first date with a girl and she decides she wants to take her leftovers home? Is it ok to do it then?
