Sooo untrue. Legit chefs do not want their "work" wasted. They would much rather you take it home than throw it out. Plenty of high end restaurants offer to box up your food without you mentioning anything

Seriously, any woman that judges you for taking perfectly good leftovers home is not a keeper. She's probably had everything in her life gifted to her and never had to work for it. She probably doesn't cook, either.

So, if you have a woman that thinks less of you for taking food home, she's:
    a) a judgmental b
    b) never been in the kitchen where she's supposed to be

There's nothing better than eating light, drinking heavy, drinking some more, and having leftovers to eat at 3am.

I never take home food for a couple reasons:

-Im a ****** and I will eat everything on the plate until I make myself sick. Regardless of company.
-I don't typically order more food than I can eat (ie: I dont order an appetizer or leave room for dessert). I really do not understand the appetizer concept when youre barely getting by or at a casual restaurant.
-If I should have any leftover, I will always eat the best part first (meats) and leave the sides last. Taking fries or veggies home does make you look cheap.

I order stuff that I can usually finish.

At the most I'll order to-go after I've finished eating because the food was awesome and I'd like to eat it again at home after a good sesh of teh faps.

Definitely a cultural difference between the US and the rest of the world. Doggy bags are usually not offered in Europe or Asia.

Provided you finish all your food without taking it home.

    Would you like a tutorial?

You dont do it when you're first starting to date someone.

Otherwise, it's cool, even though I never do it...mostly because when I have, it just sits in my fridge until I have to throw it out. And also because I eat everything I order.

    This

Looks tacky when you first meet someone... other than that, bring the box. The bartender's main reason was you're not going to eat it anyways.... so, if you are, her logic says it's okay.

    Still a first date no-no

Exactly how I see it personally.

P.S. If a chick can't finish the pasta she ordered, stick to the damn salad!! :p
