Srsly, I'm going out on a limb here and say the Warriors win 65-75 games in the regular season. You heard it first here!
http://www.landofbasketball.com/statistics/best_seasons.htm as of now they are the best regular season team...92% wins. they need to go 27-5 to go 73-9.
Tough road trip coming for them after they play us. If they can be the first team ever to sweep a 7+ game road trip (they almost did it earlier this year, but lost to the Bucks at the end of it on the second night of a back-to-back after an OT game), they'll have two losses less than the Bulls did at the same point. If they can get through it with just one loss, they'll still be ahead of the pace. Pretty impressive. IMO, this race will be decided in two stretches...this coming road trip and the end of the season, when their final four games are against the Spurs twice and Grizzlies twice.
Since their 24-0 start, they've been playing at a 70-win pace. That is, even if you removed their 24 game winning streak, they'd still be an outside threat at the record. That's crazy.
Hilarious to think back and remember going back and forth with a certain poster who believed the gsw would not make the playoffs this year because of the "luck" they had this year
Harden2Capella. Something about Curry won't be gettting the light skin treatment again. Harden2Capella claim media gave Curry MVP because he was light skin, while Players gave Harden the MVP because players don't like Light skin dude
Bobbythegreat also said GSW were a fluke last season and would struggle to make the playoffs this season
Actually the majority of this board dismissed the Warriors throughout last season. After they had a great start, people said they would come down to earth. After they continued to dominate, people said they would fail in the playoffs. ("Jump shooting teams don't win in the playoffs.") After they won the champ, people said they were lucky to be fully healthy while the opponents suffered key injuries. It's funny now we are guessing whether they would break the mighty Bulls' record.
The crazy thing is, they still haven't suffered a single meaningful loss yet. Schedule loss (bucks), mental lapses (Denver, Detroit) etc... When it's serious, they win convincingly. I remember from the ESPN tweet that the rockets game was the first time they trail in the 4th quarter in 10 games, and the first time they trailed in the 2nd half at home since December. 28th! Maybe someone should hire them to do a head and shoulders commercial.
I think it's odd to. But, I watched this team throughout the season, last year. I was like this team is unreal. I didn't see anyone, but Cleveland or San Antonio beating them. Cleveland was undermanned and SA couldn't even get past the Clippers, as the Clippers didn't past the Rockets. Who else were they supposed to beat last year.? I sound like a broken record, but they are built, like a great team from 80s.C Chicago (90s) and Los Angeles (2000s) were not built like this. They're offense is unbeatable, record-breaking, and mind-numbingly efficient. In those leagues, it was more about shutting down the other team's superstar or best scorers. In this league, it's about shutting down the other team's offense, as well as their best scorer. I'm not saying they are better than those teams, but it's a team with a deep-roster with a completely different style. ...But, their defense is an absolute rubberneck. They completely shut teams down, when they have to. I know Spurs are winning, alot of games, as well. They are beating some teams, really good. But, they are not Golden State good. The Spurs are beating so many teams, because alot of their opponents play in that 90s--2000s type of offense that relies on one or two players for scoring. But, the Spurs are trying to build their defense to stop Golden State type team, where they have to slow down a team that can have 4-5 players on the court who can shoot and score at any given time. The key is Tim Duncan, he has to be healthy and playing at a high level, like the last 3 years in the playoffs ...at the age of 39. Another problem for SA, is that GS can play defense to and take away some of their options, as well? It's like playing the old Suns, Nuggets, and Warriors teams. The Warriors have three guys who can defend in the post (Bogut, Green, and Ezeli),and one of those guys is arguably most versatile defender in the NBA. Then, you have players, like Barnes and Igoudala on the wing, combined with Curry and Thompson who aren't bad defenders. With a bench of players, who are also bringing some really good enthusiasm on defense. http://www.nba.com/2015/news/features/ian_thomsen/12/06/warriors-defense-fueling-success/ You are not 48-4 by accident. They've destroying championship contending teams and quality playoff teams.
