When I voted I thought they'd win 72. And now us Rockets fans get to witness this up close and personal.
It is truly unbelievable that a team won 73 games in a season breaking the record of the Michael Jordan Chicago Bulls team of 1995-96. The Warriors are now the greatest team in NBA history record wise. There were so many people that said it couldn't be done and so many others who felt that everything Golden State did was all luck. Those haters look ridiculous now. People are not realizing what a significant and historic accomplishment this is. But people have been doubting this team all along: http://www.reviewjournal.com/opinio...warriors-win-total#st_refDomain=&st_refQuery= I never thought we would see a team even come close to challenging those 95-96 Bulls for this record, but here we are now...absolutely amazing. What's just as amazing is the fact that this Warriors team lost to the Lakers in what is probably the greatest regular season upset in NBA history, but I'm sure it had more to do with LA nightlife and lack of motivation on the part of Golden State. What a time...to be alive!
Except they didn't go "full bore." No player averaged even 35 MPG for the season and only four (Green, Curry, Thompson and Barnes) averaged even 30 or more. Not to mention, all four of those guys are young-prime and Barnes didn't play the entire season. The idea that because the team didn't simply pull players for full games that they burned themselves out is silly. Their minutes were managed well throughout the season, so they didn't need full games off to get their minutes played down.
I think next year they will be closer to 65 wins, I just can't imagine back to back 70 win seasons, or even 3 seasons of 69+ wins either, they have to ease up a LITTLE at some point lol.
I don't think they'll ever be in position to re-set the record again, but I could see them challenging 70 wins again. Low end (barring major injuries) 65, high end 70.
It wasn't looking good for a while, but greatness prevailed in the end and Kwame was right once again. Trolls like samfisher, rv6, nook, and larsv8 with their tens of thousands of posts write a lot, but say very little. Their basketball knowledge is limited, their posts are full of hate, and they don't have a clue about how to make money betting on the NBA. Next time a hater tells you Kwame doesn't know what he's talking about, kindly point out this post as well as the many others in which I've made successful and accurate predictions and put my money where my mouth is. Actions speak louder than words: Spoiler
