I do criticize Morey at times, but he is a good GM.

He deserves credit for acquiring the controversial Ron Artest. We were unable to get into the 2nd round of the playoffs with Yao Ming, McGrady and Shane Battier.

 

I wasn't saying he was not good.

But if RC Buford had less success with this franchise, he would be under fire as well.

 

No doubt about that. The Spurs have been lucky that they acquired the best PF of all time in Duncan. He has been healthy barring one year in his career, and he has had Parker and Ginobili with him for years.

They have set up a great system in San Antonio, we don't.

Part of that is because of Morey's shortcomings IMO, but some of it is out of his control too. We are weak at the 4, and to a certain extent at the 1. The hiring of McHale as a head coach along with the expectations that the assistants would pick up for his shortcomings, was also a mistake on his part.

I do feel that Morey will eventually "get it".

Some of the people on this site are blind idiots, their pitchfork mentality is what scares me the most though. A guy coming in and stating something you have to be willfully ignorant to not know, and he gets attacked like this . For the long time members, you know how much Clutch values a civil discussion so you should know better.

 

It's not his job to win... It's his job to get good players. He's done that, now it's on the players and coaches to win.
