Raw being canceled is either going to be a godsend for the company or it's going to further sour the taste in people's mouths. For one, the Rumble is apparently replaying for free (I think? I don't have cable), and it gives fans time to cool down and rationalize the Reigns win. On the other hand, #cancelWWEnetwork is still a thing... I didn't think it was that big a deal to not have D-Von come out. Plus, it would have taken a while, and by then, the gimmick of the Dudleys would have gone on a little too long. I heard Goldust was retiring, but Cody will continue the Stardust persona. lol Speaking of his in-ring skills, they're more Cena than Bryan. Aside from strength, Reigns has: Superman punch, spear, powerbomb(?), and I guess a couple of suplexes. His moveset is just as limited as what Cena has. He's never going to get anywhere without getting good on the mic. Unless Heyman decides to manage Reigns once Lesnar is done. A PG Stone Cold wouldn't survive 6 months, imo. What made Stone Cold so good was his defiance to authority - but not like the current Cena/Bryan/Ziggler sugarcoat defiance. I mean, drinking beer, flipping off the boss, etc. does not match what WWE is all about, now. What would a PG Stone Cold even do as a promo?
Not sure about him getting a push in the current WWE. But, he will definitely get opportunities to become the top star from other leagues/organizations like TNA/Impact Wrestling, Ring Of Honor, and Global Force Wrestling (who are in a partnership with New Japan Pro Wrestling).
I watched last night and i'm watching this Raw version off and on tonight, volume is definetly subdued. Also right after Bryan got eliminated they cut to a commercial lol
sounds the same to me. its not like editing would change anything so im not sure why everyone is surprised they did not edit. more than likely they will just use it as part of a storyline going forward.
The Heyman/Lesnar/Reigns sit down was a good effort to rehab Reigns a bit. Heyman is an expert on the mic - going into Reigns' background and family, basically doing a Reigns promo on Reigns' behalf even though he represents Lesnar. Sometimes I think Heyman is the only guy there who "gets it."
The way he handled that Chicago crowd after CM Punk quit was masterful. That guy should be in charge of creative honestly.
I believe he was in charge of smackdown in the early part of the 2000s and the ratings and their championship meant more.
Heyman really has his work cut out for him having to put over both sides of a feud LOL. I noticed a bit of an undercurrent of sympathy for Reigns yesterday. A lot of people (myself included) feel kinda bad for running him down the way we did. It isn't as if he is some big timer that threw his weight around to get this opportunity. He was given this and did what every person in the world would do, you don't turn this shot down. Fact remains he is deficient in many areas (far too many IMO), but he's taking a lot of heat for booking that wasn't his fault.
Yea Smackdown when he was writing it was awesome...too bad he clashed with Steph and Vince too much and was eventually fired for listening in on the Raw meetings when he wasnt supposed to.
Heyman and the smackdown 6 made RAW look like sunday night heat. They should really try to make smackdown meaningful again. Hell, if Heyman is given control of how to play the Reigns/Lesnar feud, I think it'll be ok. Reigns' mic skills are lacking and he's making too many stupid faces, but the writers weren't doing him any favors. Let Heyman write the promos and he can use Reigns' stony delivery to his advantage. Last night shows that it's not a hopeless situation.
I need to watch that promo apparently. I skipped Raw since I thought all they were doing was a Rumble replay.
The history lesson was a great touch. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/DKsej4TqcEQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Shots fired from DB <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/lAwdR8QNNMk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I don't think he's deficient at all in the ring and his promos the last few weeks have improved. He's the only face with a moveset that I think is believable in keeping Lesnar down. They shouldn't have held the RR in Philly with a bunch of pretentious smart marks. Reigns/Rollins/Lesnar is going to be a barnburner and I'm sure they are adding spots to it
It was edited a bit, but it didn't seem like they edited out Reigns stuff. There were a couple of places where they came back from commercial and people were in the ring that had not entered when they cut. Golddust I believe was one of them. They also completely cut Titus O'Neill out of the match. I noticed because he screwed up a couple of spots and I wanted to rewatch it. They cut to commercial after #25 Ambrose entered and when they come back #27 Barrett is already in the ring.
If Bryan wanted to main event WM then he would have won the Rumble. He's just not good enough. Not surprising he only lasted 15 mins.
