I am very pleasantly surprised this the discussion in this thread stays civilized and calm so far, no LOFs or LOHs name callings yet. Let's hope it will not turn ugly once the morons like King1, jordnnnn, Dei, etc join in.

I like Lin, and I think that thread calling him a joke is just too demeaning and hurtful to a player (in this internet age, I am pretty sure he knows about that thread). Stuff like that should be reserved for quitters and Lin is a lot of things, but he is not a quitter.

Still, no GM in their right mind would give us a 1st round pick and eat Lin's remaining ballon payment of $15M. You are just deluding yourself if you really think so.

I see 'LOF' and 'LOH' in your post. So you have started the name callings already. ;)

Just joking. Actually, I agree with you fully.

You don't think Morey would have traded Lin for a 1st round pick by now if he was really worth a 1st rounder?

There are very few teams out there who need a PG so desperately that they would give up a 1st round pick for it, let alone a PG that is at best in the middle of the pack amongst all starting PGs.

Nothing against Lin, but he hasn't played at a high level or at a consistent level enough for teams to give up a 1st pick for him, especially if it is a 2014 1st rounder.

No. I'm a Lin fan but there's zero chance anyone would give up a first rounder for him. Maybe immediately after Linsanity (if the Knicks were smart enough to do a S&T), but definitely not at the present moment.

Instead of giving up picks to get rid of Lin, can't we offer all those Chinese advertisements at Toyota Center to soften the blow.

Lin is untradeable. Unless we offer up our first round picks in a package we are stuck with him until his contract expires.

To be fair, Morey did not make a mistake on Lin.

Morey gave him that contract because he was trying to rebuild and was building around Jeremy. It was a contract that has rewards outweigh the risks. Remember Jeremy was a world wide sensation in NYC and was setting NBA records and making clutch shots. If Rockets gets that here for a contract of 8 mil a year? That's pretty good!

Jeremy in my opinion could be your 20/5/7 guy if he is a first/second option on the team with guys that constructively added to the team.

But we know James was added to our team while we lose our off the ball 3 pt specialist. this is huge. Losing Kevin Martin even without James Harden being here will hit Lin assists and spacing. Look at the Timberwolves without Kevin Martin when hes injured, defense crowd the paint or the side Love is on. Now you add James Harden who plays with the ball in his hand in that equation too and now you get a pint size version of the Lin from NYC. Look at Tyreke Evans and Jrue Holiday. Tyreke was relegated to the bench because Pelican got Holiday since they're both ball dominant and Tyreke was having a very very bad year. Now look at the past couple of months when he is BOTH in the starting lineup AND running the offense. Every categorical stat jumped up significantly (including TO)

I'm just saying Lin isn't as bad as we all think. He's just in a very bad situation and like Clutch said, Rockets have shifted away from him and shifted hard. But he's is a diamond in the rough. I wont be surprised if GM from around the league try to lowball Morey using his sub par season as a reason but they know how good Lin is. Whoever team Lin is getting traded to, he's going to blow up. I guaranteed it.

They were never going to build around Lin. No team would build around a bench player. Les thought Lin would be a draw while Morey tried to add a star to the team. Thankfully we added two and the rest is history. Lin has been replaced in the starting line up by a guy who was playing in Russia.

Lol at Lin averaging 20/5/7. This isn't a video game

This I agree with. I would love to eat my words but I just don't have any confidence in Jeremy anymore.

Any player could avg 20/5/7 if you force feed him the ball. The problem is Lin would lead the league in turnovers and have a lower fg percentage. That team where Lin avereges those numbers wouldn't be very good I'll tell you that.

You sound upset. It's cute you get your feeling hurt over comments on a message board. Keep those tears flowing and I'll keep laughing

Lin shines in the playoff and his trade value goes up. It could happen. Goes to the Lakers and teamed up with J.Parker or Wiggins. Just kidding!
