Cherry Limeaid is probably the best drink ever! And the Cheese Coney rocks as well. There burgers are ok. Was I supposed to tip that server chick? I always wonder about that..... She looked pissed when I didnt give her anything.
I put my vote in for Sonic in the last fast-food thread. Cheese fries and a Cherry Limeaid, oh yeah. I have a friend who was a Sonic car-hop for years. She always said she didn't really expect tips, so don't sweat it.
I usually tip around 50 cents. I like Sonic's Coneys also. Tipping at Sonic have always been a debatable thing for me.
The SUPER LONG HOT DOGS are great! But...at my Sonic...they don't come out in rollerblades. They just walk.... Tip?!? No tip!
I've never tipped at Sonic. No one has acted like they expected one. The rationale being: this is fast food, and there are such things as Sonics that have an "inside". They work like regular fast food restaurants. You wouldn't tip there. (I am assuming the employees at Sonic are paid over the minimum wage and all that. Assuming it's not like "sit-down" restaurants where the servers are only paid a little and expected to make the rest from tips.) Same with all those places that put out "tip jars". They probably just want to see if they can make some extra cash. I'll tip if I particularly appreciate something, or will dump spare change in there, but that's about it. I think this topic has been brought up on this board before, but it's been awhile. Anyone else have any insight into the proper Sonic etiquette?
It seems the sonics I go to they half they time just keep your change without asking, or are like "you want the change?"..
if any of you ever get to atlanta... you MUST eat at the varsity. pretty old burger joint. burgers, fries, shakes, etc.., but the hotdogs and the onion rings kick arse. just looking at the burgers will probably block your jugular.
I'm a Varsity, Jr. person myself; better location to get out of town. Okay maybe not, but it is gooooooood. AND it's also Kosher!!! Black Eyed Pea RULES!!! I might have to go to Rice just for the food back in HTown....
The one I drove by was somewhere around Georgia Tech. You can get directions at www.thevarsity.com - looks like there are four of them.
