I just used them as a example of the regular season. They got a top seed despite doing horrible against playoff competition last year, my original point was that playing .500 ball against playoff competition is great (Granted you beat up on the lesser teams...) because there are more bad-average teams than good obviously, and beating up on those teams is what beefs your regular season record up.

Lol you think the 9-3 Mavs with a point differential of +11 are performing like an 8 seed. Ok

Well, they barely squeaked past the Wizards today. Does anyone here really think the Wizards would make the playoffs in the West?

The Wiz are 7-3 and just got back Bradley Beal. The Lakers are the worst team in the West....

The Wizards feasted on terrible teams to go 7-3. Even the Lakers were undefeated against the Eastern Conference.

Carl Herrera- the poster- is very disagreeable, but he has the right to speak as much as anyone (ugh).

Who wants to take a bet that Dallas will:
    A) destroy us with 20+ points difference
    B) we will not score 90 and
    C) Parsons will have better stats than Harden

Give Dallas and their front office credit... they've surrounded their star with a tremendous amount of talent during his final few years in the league along with making sure they've had a competent coach in order to try and make a run at a title while Maury continues to pursue "flexibility." The Mavs also won a championship three years ago and almost one another one five years before that.

Zach Lowe loves the Mavs these days:

    Zach Lowe @ZachLowe_NBA ·
Good vibes at Mavs shootaround. Hard not to enjoy being around DAL -- basketball vets who like to talk, don't take themselves too seriously

    Zach Lowe @ZachLowe_NBA ·
Was chatting with Tyson Chandler, Dirk came by to interrupt, and Chandler immediately started mocking Dirk's defense. Just a fun group.

    Zach Lowe @ZachLowe_NBA ·
Mavs need to film some recycling awareness video where players just lob empty bottles and cans to Wright and Chandler. It's ridiculous.

Dirk's impact for a team is just huge.

He can straight murder any big defender who is too uncomfortable or lazy to come out to the perimeter (watch Boozer try to guard him tonight, lol) and has enough size and a decent enough post up game to take advantage if wings. Having him as a pick and roll/pop screener opens up all kinds of space and opportunities for the team. Dallas can also play Dirk as the C with 4 perimeter guys for an ultimate floor spacing lineup that neutralizes opposing shot blockers.

SOS is below league average; I'll go with regresses. Still pretty impressive.

Well the Blazers held them under 90 (87), the Heat held them under 100 (96) and the Spurs held them under 101(100)

Are the Rockets the next victim in this killing spree or will it be another "coin flip"?
