We are trading two people and a high second round pick for Bass? Too much to give up for bass! and no thanks. Brandon Bass averaged 11 points and 5.6 rebounds in 30 min. Celtics wanted to give us some package with Bass and some other duds for Asik. We declined then. Why would we propose this?

im no cap expert but my understanding is it would have to be a simultaneous trade.
    via http://www.hoopsrumors.com/2012/06/traded-player-exception.html
In a simultaneous trade, different rules applies to taxpaying and non-taxpaying clubs. A non-taxpaying team can trade one or more players and take back….

150% of the outgoing salary (plus $100K), for any amount up to $9.8MM.
The outgoing salary plus $5MM, for any amount between $9.8MM and $19.6MM.
125% of the outgoing salary (plus $100K), for any amount above $19.6MM.

Read again. These rules consider trading players and create an Exception by doing so. Using the Lin Exception we could only aquire a player within the reach ($8,3M), so no David West ($12M) - even if the Pacers would agree to give him up for nothing.

Trade Terrence Jones, Clint Capela, and Jason Terry to the Atlanta Hawks for Paul Millsap.

    1) Patrick Beverley / Ish Smith / Isaiah Canaan
    2) James Harden / Troy Daniels / Nick Johnson
    3) Trevor Ariza / Kostas Papanikolaou / Francisco Garcia
    4) Paul Millsap / Jeff Adrien / Tarik Black
    5) Dwight Howard / Donatas Motiejunas / Joey Dorsey

First off I really appreciate your videos. Thank you.

    Why would Atlanta do this?

    Thanks man.

It doesn't look like Atlanta is going to do anything major this year and Paul Millsap will be a free agent in the off season. I don't know if he plans on sticking around but they could get something for him now instead of getting nothing for him later. Jones is ready to play right now and Capela has nice potential. Terry is an expiring deal.

I think Milsap would be a perfect fit here. Has good range, team player, hustles, a underrated rebounder and defender, and an all-star last year. If we could get him for the pu pu platter, that would be great. I just don't see ATL wanting to get rid of him for Jones, Capela, and Terry.

But then again, there's been rumors of them wanting to get rid of Hortford so who knows. Maybe it's a firesale, getting rid of all big contracts for the new ownership etc...

    Thanks again for your videos!

Ish and New Orleans pick for "dot". Sounds good!

Dot could really help this team, no doubt. :)
