I disagree that Gobert is worth more than an unproven euro because that can also describe Gobert. I don't want to make it sound like I think Gobert is the next big thing. I just think he could fill the backup center position quite well for us and could possibly become a fairly productive NBA player. I can't think that Utah really wants to hold onto a guy playing behind Favors and Kanter. I admit the pieces we send are on the low side, but Utah does get a comparable player with higher potential and a second round pick out of this. I guess you could throw in the rights to Llull. That might make it more even.

Let me start by saying I love Pat Beverly and I would hate to play against him that being said I think this move is a no brainer for both teams

    Pat Bev
    T Jones
    Pelicans pick

    for

    Taj Gibson
    Doug McDermott
    Kirk Hinrich

    Dwight/DMO
    Gibson
    Ariza/McDermott
    Harden/Terry
    Hinrich/Johnson

I'd rather keep Bev and take Hinrich and Gibson. I'm assuming we'd be using the Lin TPE for this trade as well.

I just read McHale's lips to TJones right before tip off: "Rebound your ass off."

Why would that be a no brainer for Chicago? Just curious

not enough minutes available for the guards. quite frankly i'd rather see daniels and johnson play over smith and canaan.

play terry at pg. trade canaan and covington plus 2nd picks for schroeder from the hawks. schroeder's a project who was beaten for the backup role by shelvin mack last season. mack was re-signed to a 3yr deal this free agency.

    bev, terry, schroeder
    harden, daniels, johnson
    ariza, pap, adrien
    jones, donuts, dorsey
    howard, black, capela

cuts: powell, mitchell, smith, & garcia
*dorsey not cut because of his 2yr guaranteed deal.

Terry, Motiejuanas, 2 second rounders, Greg Monroe to Atlanta

Horford, Korver to Houston (Korver would come in on a TPE)

    Jones to Detroit

Obviously, this trade would have to occur lately in the season as neither Monroe nor Terry can be traded right away.

Horford is big enough to deal with the bigger power forwards in the West and would help with our rebounding. He's on a favorable contract, and - while Atlanta often used him as a center- keep in mind that Horford himself has said that he wanted to play power foward, that he occasionally played next to Pachula in Atlanta, and the fact that Horford played PF in college next to Joakim Noah.

    More of the same...
    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=nfroh88
Denver - Jason Terry & NOP pick
    Houston - Wilson Chandler

    then

    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=mne8gcr
Denver - DMo, Capela, Canaan and the rights to Llull
    Houston - Randy Foye

    Foye / Bev
    Harden / Ariza or Foye
    Ariza / Chandler / Papa
    Chandler / Jones / Adrien
    Howard / Black / Dorsey

Lots of Spacing & Defensive Juggernaut

Run plays for Jones as the 6th man for some offense of the bench

This is the BEST TEAM we could reasonably put together in Howard's window

Fills in some holes for the Nuggets aswell.

I'd definitely like Chandler coming off the bench. Don't care for foye so much but he always seems to kill us

Also, Atlanta would need to send 1 minimum salary player to Washington for Porter. Korver could either be absorbed into the Lin TPE or we could send them Terry.

Next year, I'd like to see us bring over Sergio Llull using the MLE.

    Beverley / Llull
    Harden / Daniels
    Ariza / Korver
    Horford / Adrien
    Howard / Dorsey

Foye's games seems taylored made as Hardens back court mate and would work well with Bev as well. 3 and D with a high Bball IQ. He can do everything well and doesn't need the ball to do it. Chandler would have to start --> he has the skill set to score but he just doesn't. Jones as a sixth man fits his skill set better than not getting the touches needed to show his overall talent.

I know it's not a Moreyball style of move tho

    Ersan Ilyasova for Terry+D-Mo+Canaan+2nd round picks(SAC's & MIN's)
    O.J.Mayo for Lin's TPE

I think it's time to buy low them and roll the dice.
We'll finally have our stretch 4 and off the bench scorer if things go well...

Rockets Out: Terrence Jones, Josh Powell, Isaiah Canaan

Rockets in: Timofey Mozgov, Gary Harris

Backup center problem solved, Mozgov can play or even start if Dwight gets hurt.

Would love for houston to explore trades with the Pacers. Lets get us David West. Hes got an option in his contract. I dont see the pacers going far might be willing to let him go for younger talent and picks.

But how do you get the numbers straight? If you give up Terry, you'd have to wait until Nov 16 (can't be traded in combination) and couldn't involve the guys who will get cut. And giving up Papanikolaou plus a lot of talent or picks for a 34-year old who recently got injured and might leave next summer or make 12M$ for another year doesn't feel quite right.
