Would Davis fit our needs at PF? A good banger and rebounder, I say yes! According to NBA talk if the Raptors sign MO Taylor he would probably have to leave along with Oakley, of course they were also talking of the Raptors acquiring Grant. ------------------ Rockets For Better, For Worse......'til death do us part! I would gladly welcome Antonio, as long as we don't have to disrupt our "core" of players. ------------------ "The day after tomorrow is the third day of the rest of your life." ---George Carlin
The report also mentioned that the Raptors were in need of a pt. guard! Maybe Drew fits in there! That would be nice, plus maybe a second round draft choice. ------------------ Rockets For Better, For Worse......'til death do us part!
http://www.thestar.com/editorial/raptors98/20000805SPT07b_SP-RAPTORS.html Odds are, Mo is going to Toronto, as Orlando just doesn't have the cap space (and we're the only team that can help them.....and about all they have left to trade is Mike Miller, Garrity, Darrell Armstrong, and Doleac....I'll take them for the exception. According to the article, Davis even has a player option after this season. (Note to heypartner: My guess is that it's an ETO, because his contract is said to expire in 03) Hmm....Davis made 4.2 mill last year....according to http://members.home.net/victony/tordata.htm his contract is backloaded, and makes 6.75 mill next year! However, Drew/exception would make it work...it'd also allow Toronto to offer more $$, and get them the PG they want. ------------------ The more lefties on your team, the better. Collier is Seven Foot and Left Handed. How can you go wrong? Trade or bench Kenny Thomas.
Not a bad idea if we can´t get Grant here. ------------------ "Never underestimate the heart of a champion"
Now thats a good post NIKEstrad! Lets do the trade!!! ------------------ Rockets For Better, For Worse......'til death do us part!
Thanos forget Grant for a minute, this is about Davis, and I think he brings to the table the same stuff that Grant does, besides we could actually make this deal work into our cap,I think! ------------------ Rockets For Better, For Worse......'til death do us part!
I believe Davis also went to UTEP, didn't he? ------------------ The more lefties on your team, the better. Collier is Seven Foot and Left Handed. How can you go wrong? Trade or bench Kenny Thomas.

Isn't he left handed too or is that Dale Davis? ------------------ Rockets For Better, For Worse......'til death do us part!
To be not interested in the game not to bad of #'s, if he came and played with Rockets it could be just what the doctor ordered. Doesn't he have the potential to block alot shots? ------------------ Rockets For Better, For Worse......'til death do us part!
Theres that word again Potential ------------------ "The day after tomorrow is the third day of the rest of your life." ---George Carlin
He'd make a very good fit in this offense. He already blocks a pretty good amount of shots, and is a better rebounder than Cato, and probably a better scorer as well (at least last year). ------------------ The Serious Police are watching. Follow the rules or be assimilated. Shandon is underrated.
True, we may have enough potential with Cato and now Collier! Lets go with Davis, we know what he can do! ------------------ Rockets For Better, For Worse......'til death do us part!
It´s nearly impossible for me to forget about Grant all kidding aside, I would take Antonio Davis over Mo Taylor any day, as he fits our needs - rebounding and defense - FAR better. But it´s foolish to think that Drew would get him here. Toronto would not give him away so cheaply. Anyone knows if Christie can play SF? A package sending the Wizard and Drew for Christie and Davis... Naaahh. They wouldn´t do that, either. ------------------ "Never underestimate the heart of a champion" [This message has been edited by Thanos (edited August 05, 2000).]
Not just Drew or Walt but in comes The Exception into place here! Thats the key! ------------------ Rockets For Better, For Worse......'til death do us part!
true Thanos, but Drew AND cap space is a different story don't u think? a few of the names Toronto could get with the cap space would be: Howard Eisley and Jaque Vaughn.....Not to mention they'd have Mugsy Bogues, Alvin Williams, and with the trade, Bryce Drew ALL there....but i think Drew is capable of starting.....if THEY don't think so, i don't think the Jazz are gonna re-sign both of those two, and I'm sure the space they'd get from this trade would cover their expenses.....Antonio Davis is exactly what we need.....he won't take away shots, he'll defend the top notch PFs excellently, he'll get us the rebounds, he'll blocj shots, and he'll score if we need him to...not too many moves, but he CAN score............i say it's a perfect fit..... ------------------
Of course if the Blazers are going to sign and trade Grant to the Raptors then that would probably screw it up for us because they would more than likely get Davis and Oakley in exchange so we probably can forget it anyway! ------------------ Rockets For Better, For Worse......'til death do us part!
The Toronto Raptors are one yr removed from dealing the 5th overall pick for Antonio Davis; I seriously doubt they are going to move him for Bryce Drew. Let's say they do want to deal him, they can get much better offers than something like Bryce Drew. For instance, Detroit would be all over offering them Jerome Williams and Lindsey Hunter for Antonio Davis. Im sure other teams could so something also. ------------------ Check out the Best Source for Draft Info Draftsource.net
But they don't free up cap space do they!? ------------------ Rockets For Better, For Worse......'til death do us part!
