Its going to have to come from the Texans players/coaches. Till then, the fans will continue to gripe about an overrated issue.

Exactly... this urban legend (started by a certified lunatic that has since been cut... Swearing) needs to be put to bed. We have a punter possibly stepping into a seam on a kickoff... and we have Wes Welker (who has since played on this same field without issue or "fear of lawsuit"). There were definite significant statistical increases in injuries on astroturf... would likely take similar data here. They'll make a change because its likely cheaper/easier and looks better (and presuming the players/coaches want the change)... but unproven about it being "safer".

Had maybe. Mack is going to be great. Having high ceiling doesn't mean anything if he's not on the field developing technique. Now more than ever he'll need to rely less on explosiveness. The fact that everyone knew that the Texans wanted to trade the first overall pick and no one bit in it says how bad that draft was. Bad time for Texans to have the worst record. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.
I get what you are saying and I think Mack will be pretty good too, but if Clowney was healthy all year and only had 4 sacks....what would people be saying about him? Let's also not forget that Mack is 2 years older than Clowney is. IMO he had the highest ceiling when drafted, and he still does.
