In theaters July 22nd, 2016 <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/XRVD32rnzOw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Gotta admit....it looks like caca to me, and that's coming from a lifetime Star Trek fan and a person who really liked the first 2 films. Apparently, the director of "The Fast and the Furious" series (Justin Lin) directed this. You can see it in the trailer and it looks.....ugh. Hopefully, it's just a badly made trailer.
Not a trekkie or a nerd but based on the trailer it looks like something I'll go see to kill some time. Yes the beastie boys in the trailer had a nice touch to it. You go to a movie for enjoyment right?
You get Idris Elba in your movie then you cover him up with make-up? Man, It's tough being black in space.
The sound track was the worse thing about it it really was a distraction and seemed out of place Intergalactic might have been better Rocket River
That song was in the first movie. Not a Trekkie. Loved the first one, like the second, okay with this trailer.
Not feeling that one to be honest. Only a scantily clad Alice Eve can save this movie for me and she seems nowhere to be found
I loved the first two but this one just looks off. I'll still watch it because I do love the character chemistry of the crew of the first two films and I'm sure that'll translate to this one since its the same cast for the Enterprise crew.
Yeah definitely a different tone here, and not sure if that's a good or bad thing. And I don't think Sabotage was a good choice of music. It worked in the first film because it fit within the context of the scene. Here it feels a bit out of place and recycled. I guess it works as a teaser but hopefully the full trailer gives us something more, especially in adding some emotional weight to the characters.
liked the first 2 well enough, but not feeling good about this one. I think its the Justin Lin director. This feels too Micheal Bayish at least the trailer didnt give away too much of the plot. I appreciate that
Really excited Looks a lot more true to the source than the last 2 which were OK, but not typical of Star Trek Justin Lin is a way better director than JJ and Simon Pegg usually writes great stuff
Seriously, whoever keeps giving Captain Kirk command of big ass expensive starships needs to be fired. 3 movies - 3 destroyed Enterprises. Can you imagine what his insurance premiums are?
I thought everything was pretty much free in the Star Trek universe. Kirk probably got 2 starships in the garage. One with a peanut butter leather captain's chair.
I've been a life long star trek fan as well and it just doesn't look all that bad to me. A lot of the die hards seem unhappy but this isn't an episode on the small screen. Star Trek films are not really blockbuster they need more action for that. So I guess that's what they are going for.
