Man this is a very stupid analysis. Without Dmo last year Rockets would've been 7th seed at best. Harden needed Dmo for many of those 50+ victories while Dwight and useless Tjones were out. They held it down with Tarik Black and Joey Dorsey playing big minutes. Even Clutch himself has said this.
I'm aware of that, but i wanted to see every game of over 32 or lets say 35 minutes per game for his career and see what his numbers average out to. Looking at last year his minutes were very inconsistent too. One game 40 min, next game 20, one game 37, next game 28. Is it foul trouble? That's why i just want to see what his numbers are specifically for only games he plays a certain amount.
and this is just a stupid response. did i not say he was solid. oh just because I didn't call him a star its an insult to Dmo right. now that's what is pretty stupid. Someone asked for his numbers when he got the minutes and you can go look for yourself instead of trying to push an agenda.
foul trouble and consistency has always plagued him. but last year was by far his most consistent stretch for a good portion of the year
If you look at only games where he's played 35 or more minutes, he scores an average of 15 points and 7 rebounds.
I think Donuts was still getting into NBA shape both before and during the series. The other games were largely forgettable, but Game 3? Donuts comes alive, starting and playing (believe it or not!) 31 minutes, hitting his shots, getting a couple of steals and a couple of assists, and being a madman on the boards with 13, 5 offensive. Where has this dude been? If we could get consistent production from the guy at this level, bring him back, please. That's all I've got. I'd rather forget the last 2 games of the series.
His non per 36 for last year was 28 min 12pts 5.9reb 1.8ast .8stl .5blk As a starter last year 62 games 29.8min 12.7pts 6reb 1.9ast .8stl .5blk From NBA.com
No matter how you slice it, is there anyone better then dmo we could get? From a contract to talent stand point. I would love to read some suggestions.
hopefully he can have a full offseason now where its not rehabbing at all and just focusing on basketball and getting back into it. going into next year healthy and all his injury problems aside for once going into whatever team that may be.
Late last season, DMo showed some serious promise. He was a great post threat, had a nice shooting touch, good passing, etc. Maybe he was just too hurt this year and was away for too long (because he kind of sucked).
Dmo was probably our second best player last season , maybe Ariza was a bit better . Ariza regressed ( partially due to missing Dmo ) and Dmo was recovering this year . I think we are stuck with Ariza next year and that's fine , especially if we can upgrade at the 1 or 4 . If Dmo is resigned and can get healthy / more athletic that's also fine . Dmo looked like our second best player this series given that Ariza and bev blew from the arc . Dwight was pathetic and has been pathetic relative to the level he played at last playoffs . Despite playing in a lot of games this year , he has looked slower and less skilled than ever . When Dmo was in the game there were a number of very important positives happening . 1. Offensive ball movement ticked up 2. Defensive rotations were tighter 3. Due to those previous 2 our quality of offensive looks increased and GS' quality of looks decreased. If you don't understand those positives and what they mean then it's understandable if you don't think Dmo is a very good player . For those of us who do , we understand Dmo is huge for us and retaining him if healthy should be the easiest decision of the offseason . Also JB is an idiot for not playing him more .
Taking charges is not a good defence on its own. Can he protect the rim? Can he deter the opponent from attacking? Can he offer good pnr defence? Can he guard stretch fpurs in the perimeter , communicate when to switch and hedge? Can he close on shooters after a switch? And when playing center can he understand what the other team is doing and direct the other players as a good defensive C must do? Charges is nothing. Ilyasova takes charges and he sucks .
Not really No Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes as he showed last season . He isn't a great rim protector , but he's also not a 5 at least not more than a backup level 5 . He's a PF , the only PF's he will struggle to match up against are the quickest few . Even then , if he can regain some athleticism over the summer his size might make up for it . He did a good job on green , I don't see how people don't see that . If anything our team defense gave him too much help on green which left his teammates open for the pass .
