    Tip-ins

Rival team executives expect the Houston Rockets to be patient in their attempt to trade Tracy McGrady(notes) and his $23 million expiring contract. “Never say never, but I will be a little surprised if they get any kind of a reasonable deal,” one general manager said. Another executive even speculated on the possibility of McGrady not playing the rest of this season and being used in a sign-and-trade during the summer

i dont buy that at all. No team would want to pull a snt for tmac when they can ink him to a deal out right for 3 or 4 mil a year. Marion only got 6.6 mil from the mavs and he has alot more left as a player then tmac does.

If DMorey is shooting for the star on a trade this could be the case but at this point there are tons of opinions going left and right really don't know whats going on.

    Gamesmanship.

Rockets: We want value or we won't trade. (Trade value goes up)

Other teams: They won't get anything good. (Trade value goes down.)

    Nothing to see here.

    Decreasing trade value.

    Read in between the lines.

I think a deal will eventually get done. At the same time though, wouldnt be shocked if nothing at all happened. Just a bunch of talk and speculation right now.

I'd rather no deal is made than a bad deal just to make one. I don't think for one minute that Morey will do that though. The only question in my mind is are they trying to set up for 2010 or 2011 free agency.

I agree and doubt the Rockets get a worthwhile deal.

Don't you guys see what is going on here? Other GM's know that someone will ultimately overpay for McGrady, and are trying to basically blackball Morey, but Morey will find a deal.... patient

    Just one big game....

But all the Execs know that Morey holds the Ace Card in the fact that he doesn't have to trade McGrady...

    Fixing more popcorn.....

If they trade him and his massive contract it will probably be a trade deadline deal. Looks like the rockets are going to take their time on this.

This is a major factor in not trading Tmac. Shawn marion 6.6 mil. We will easily have more than that in cap space and their are better second tier players available this coming offseason.

These owners are just trying to push down the attractiveness for other teams. I would expect nothing less, but I'm confident that the Rockets will find a good enough deal to make a move.
