I'm thrilled with the idea of adding yet another role player.

    This.

And unless the Rockets win the lottery and get a top-3 pick (not very likely), they're doomed to be picking in the late lottery again. They got very lucky (according to them) last summer in getting Patterson at #14; don't count on getting someone as good as Patterson in the #12 to #14 range this June.

THAT is why the Rockets need to sack up and make a run at the playoffs. I'd much rather pick #16 and go to the playoffs than pick #12 and miss the playoffs.

(Also, if the Rockets are picking after, say, #8, I'd just as soon like to see them trade the pick in a package for a good player.)

I'm trying to find who here was high on PPat early on, that's whose insight I want to read.

    I know Bima liked him.

I find it slightly alarming that while playing nearly 30 minutes a game and being 7 feet tall, he only averages 3 rebounds a game.

yea he looks like a project(hes barely 18), but just his presence alone in the paint reminds me of what tyson chandler has done for the mavs this year.

at 46 seconds his holding on to the rim with his heels barely off the ground.

I looked at this guy too. If we have a late pick and he is the best player on the board, I wouldn't be against it.

We would have to stick him in the D league or Europe for a couple years (or three) until he bulked up, But I would take the gamble and trade for a veteran defensive center to fill the void until then.

I'd love to pick up Singleton or Vesely if the pick is in the 11-14 range. With the early 2nd rounder from LAC, David Lighty could become a very solid role player.
